Default Celler Es Moli, September 2011

I’m a bit of a food obsessive. I like planning meals. I like shopping for meals. I like cooking meals. I like eating meals. I like writing about meals. Feed me, say, a 13 course Michelin starred tasting menu and I can whitter on for pages. Other times, like this lunchtime, there’s not much to say.

It’s a €9 “menu del dia”. Three choices at each course. Most of your fellow diners will be locals on their lunch break, although there seems to be more of a nod to the tourist trade than when we were last here in 2008. When you sit down, there’s already bread and olives on the table. And a bottle of red wine. And a big bottle of water. As to the food:-

Starters – paella.

Mains – salmon, potatoes, mixed veg & Chicken, pepper sauce, chips

Desserts – fresh pineapple & lemon ice cream

Damn good cafe solo adds another Euro each.

Good food. Simples!

We've always had great meals here, but never at lunchtime - just need to remember that its only open evenings from Wednesday to Saturday (I think!)
