Just back from a fantastic week in Puerto Pollensa. My parents had not been since 1972 …..

We ate in every lunchtime except the first day, as we were on a tight budget.

So, arrived last Friday, went to Miguelon for lunch, baguettes and omelettes all round … very nice. Friday night we stayed in and had prawns, salad and bread.

Saturday night went into Pollensa town and went to La Trencadora, beautiful setting and lovely meal. Did get lost in the dark wondering around the back streets though!!!

Sunday, beach and pool all day so, in the evening just went to Hardleys Diner to get a Mars Bar Milkshake (the girls choice) and then collected fish and chips from The Codfather ….. Very good. Washed down with a couple of cold beers sitting on our roof terrace…. lovely.

Monday went the Hydropark, ate lunch before we went, and just took water (bags not checked). In the evening went to Tolos …. We all had pasta, which was just ok, the service was very slow and we had our food before our drinks (even though we kept asking the waiter) also ages for the bill and then had to go and find the waiter to ask for our change after a 15 min wait. Wouldn’t bother to go again.

Tuesday went to Formentor, then took the girls fishing near the I’lla Dor., beautiful. Went to Guru at night. Nice meal, my daughter drew a picture, and was given a packet of sweets after the meal, which she thought was great, and kept her occupied while we waited for the food. So would definitely recommend for families.

Wednesday, market (girls shopping … a must!!!), in the evening we went to Citrus, fantastic meal, very reasonable, will definitely return.

Thursday (last day) in the evening went to Can Josep, again fantastic meal, lovely setting and David Giverin the Saxophone payer an added bonus.

One other place I must mention is Bellavista. We did not have an evening meal here, but went for coffee or fresh orange juice, 4 times during our stay. A big hit with myself, parents and daughters who thought it was very “cool“!!

We tried to get in at Laguna, which was our favourite from last year, but they were fully booked. I think next year I will try and make some reservations before I come out.

Had a lovely week. Puerto Pollensa is really beautiful, unfortunately a week is just not long enough ….. Next year will try and stay for longer

Sounds a lovely week emmalou. You seem to have managed a good balance of places to eat and places to have fun! Interesting that Laguna is now so busy you need to book. I am surprised at Tolos though, was it very busy and the waiters too rushed do you think?
Good for you already planning a longer break next year!

Hi Emmalou

Sounds like a great week! I totally agree with you on Tolos - we went there last October and after being shown to our table, we waited 15 mins and still no sign of the menu or a drink - so walked

And Bella Vista and Citrus - well I have waxed lyrical about both of these restaurants - many times

And so glad you loved the town and area - and I agree that a week is not long enough - a month would be great
