Ah!! Fran, El Faro is where we first tried Pa amb oli and Lomo con Col. One of the sons (sorry his name has slipped my mind) is here on holiday now from Sweden with his wife and their sons.

Anyone remember the supermarket in C/Bot opposite the Pollensa Park Hotel. It was run by 2 sisters and was just a corrigated iron construction, there was a crazy golf course to the side of it. The sisters sold the land (i think to the hotel) and the Spar supermarket/ apartments were built. The crazy golf is still there but sadly overgrown and derelict.

Anyone else remember Restaurant Mibar which over the years became JK's and now Km Zero. Those who do will obviously know that the waitresses were the sisters Yolanda, now running another popular restaurant, and Alicia with a taxi Company.

I remember Cafeteria Yum Yum - had a few nice, well priced meals there
I also remember a big fellow with a beard who used to ride around on a green scooter with a sidecar - this would have been in the early 80's
One year we stayed in the Apartments Veronique - there was lovely old fella who was in a wheelchair - he had had his legs amputated. He just sat on the pavement for most of the day - really lovely man !

Great memories of the Coach House. We had many enjoyable family meals there while the kids played on the sand or climbed on the huge pine tree that leaned over towards the sea.

The Coach House was wonderful lots of shade on the beach from the trees, the owner name escapes me used to run the local youth football team.
Next along back to port was what we called in the old day Faulty Towers hotel Bahia nice coffee and brandy on the terrace served by Manuel.
We used to meet up on the beach with nice lady who used to have a little white dog in her basket on the front of her bike.

Pepperoni Man,
We remember both these gentlemen, we stayed in the Apartments Veronique in 1983.
Snowy,
If I remember correctly the owner of the Coach House was Juan, a lovely chap, we spent many happy nights watching the sun go down from the Coach House.

Wonder what the health & safety man would have made of all those kids right up in the branches of that tree!

It was indeed Juan who had the Coach House - his wife is English or Scottish, I think she may be Kathy - she had the hairdressers on the Formentor road and the little gift shop next door.
After Juan left the Coach House he took on the beach consession for the sunbeds and shades.
I haven't seen them for a long time - they lived in a very nice villa in Gommar - just along from Eleanor's place.

A trip down memory lane
We still see Juan from time to town in town and also when he pops into Little Italy. As far as I am aware he still owns the premises there.
Dad used to love his food and when it was 'his turn' to cook, he simply went next door to Juan's Coach House and collected the menus so we could choose what we wanted to eat. It was always a real treat as Juan would bring the food round to our terrace and lay up the table for us.
And then, if we were lucky, lovely Lorenzo Valls would come along on his motorised tricycle, shouting out 'helados' and we'd buy one of his delicious ice creams.

We always went to the Coach House on our last day & had Pa Amb Olis for lunch after we had to vacate our room at the Puerto Azul - back then we didn't eat out much but made do with the Pto Azul buffet (with the occasional escape) - well the Kids loved it!
