Default Citrus (formely known as Fletchers)

On a short visit in May i posted about this bistro/restaurant on the basis of quality and value for money. Decided to try again on my recent 4 week visit (sorry, to be such a bore, i know i've mentioned this a few times) probably visited about 10 times. Did i enjoy? Think the numbers speak for themselves.

The food is simply outstanding, everything made from fresh ingriedients, salads to die for and the home made desserts are delicious, main courses vary a little bit in price from 7.95/13.00 (steak) , but are all excellent value.

You can only compare restaurants you have visited ( PP has far too many to visit them all) and form a opinion based on that, and in my opinion, the food and service you receive at Citrus is up there with the best of them. Worth remembering though, it is basically a Bistro serving fine food, so don't expect luxurious surroundings.

Met quite a few board members there on my various visits.

It is situated on the side street occupied by Burger King, and i would urge you to give it a try, you will not be disapointed.

Totally agree Smiddy! We first went to Fletchers last year on the recommendation of a forum member. From the outside it just looked like another bar with a tv and we would never have even thought of going in. There are no tablecloths, no wine buckets, nobody rushing to fill your wine glass or brush crumbs away, but if its good food nicely presented, friendly service, good value, and massive 'on the houses', look no further

No there are none of these things here, but some nights you just feel like it's that kind of evening, a walk on the beach first maybe, and a feeling of total relaxation. There,s no need to get dressed up to the nines to go to Citrus but they give you as much attention as a 5* restaurant and would really recomend this little place

Well after those endorsments, how can I not go and give it a try out.

Curiously, Citrus is the name of one of my favourite albums.

Smile citrus

Now that I am home again I am really missing Kenny's great food and Maureens warm welcome to Citrus Bistro. This is the place to enjoy your holiday in the port and meet lots of new friends (the holiday friends you do keep in touch with) Kenny is very keen to sort everyone's needs and made us a wonderful birthday cake , so dont hesitate to ask him for something special

cant wait until I am back in the port once more

Ate here 2 nights ago at a table of 20 odd people not one complaint the food was superb ,the hospitality was second to none. The folks that own & run the place are very hard grafters & deserve to do well, judging by the standards we witnessed they will have no problems.
Highly recommended by the Cumberlands.
