Thumbs up Bellavista

Every visit to Puerto Pollensa produces at least one restaurant surprise. This year it was Bellavista. What a setting, so tranquil, lovely courtyard setting and quirky as well. I like quirkiness. Coloma (apologies if Iíve mis-spelled her name) was a lovely host and extremely pleased when I showed her the comments given by forum members. In total we made two visits. An evening visit with Muss Fussie and a lunchtime visit.

For starters Mrs Fussie stated she was not that hungry so didnít want a starter. She then proceeded to eat most of my vegetable samosas with yoghurt dip. Miss Fussie elected to have a starter of bread and black olive tapenade. Mains were a wok dish with aubergines, red pepper, onion, nuts, brown rice etc. Dumplings, which were more like a vegetable spring roll, served with salad and wild rice and finally a vegetable risotto. Unfortunately the risotto was a little on the heavy side for MrsFussie so some was left. But she still found room for a chocolate style mousse with nuts.

We actually raved so much about the food that Miss Fussie insisted on going for her farewell lunch accompanied by one FussieFriend and Mr&Mrs Fussie. The other FussieFriend,a committed carnivore, could not bring themselves to go vegetarian even for one meal.

As it was lunch only one course of 2 of the wok dish, one dumpling and one mixed tapas. Again all the food was excellent and freshly prepared. As soon as we ordered we could her the sound of chopping from the kitchen.

All in all a great restaurant and a welcome addition to the port. Even if you are not vegetarian Iíd urge you to give Bellavista a try.

we discovered this little gem last year when friends booked and asked us to suss it out, and thought it was fab an appropriate description as its in a bit of a time warp
had a quiet cerveva one afternoon and returned for light lunch another day
so tranquil, love the hammocks but not brave enough to try, especially after the cerveva
would be nice venue for a wedding maybe

After all the good comments, we are always surprised that we seem to be the only people in the restaurant when we go! This is a link to their website, although its not showing up as a link

Is this restaurant completely vegetarian or are there any meat options. I am very happy and often go for vegetarian option however a couple of my carniverous children might not be terribly impressed?

Not sure, either, but lunch is great because its so peaceful and cool under the trees, but evening for the music and atmosphere.

When we were there in May, they only did the MDD at lunchtime - but it may be different in the high season - either way, its great value and delicious and unusual imaginative food
