Los Faroles - restaurant review

Los Faroles was one of our finds in 2010, had walked past it for 13 years without venturing in and based on our 2010 visit we were highly impressed. So with that in mind we made it our first night venue.

Menu consisted of soup of the day and gazpacho, followed by lemon sole and dorada, expertly cooked and prepared. All this washed down by a fine bottle of Vionta albarinio. Can’t recall the exact cost but it was around 45 euros

Decided to follow this up with a second visit a week later in the company of FussieFriends and Miss Fussie. The sparkle though had gone as I felt the fish was not of the same quality as the week before. Mrs Fussie made the mistake of ordering a filleted dorada that was a pale imitation of the non-filleted fish.
Food ordered consisted of pimentos pardon, chicken croquettes, 2 soup of the day and gazpacho to start. This was followed by two dorada one sole and vegetarian paella for two as mains. Wine was again the Volanta. Total bill including water bread and alioli was 110.65 euros. A nice enough meal but most definitely not as good as the week before. Incidentally both visits were on a Saturday evening and restaurant was packed with local people, usually a good sign.

They have been really hard at it...the outside tiling was being completed on Saturday

I had a sneak view two days ago and it looks lovely and bright and modern.. no furniture placed in yet but I would not be surprised if these were of a modern style in black or white.... lets wait and see.
Great news for a great restaurant.
