Going back as far as the mid 80's it was a hardware, chandlery and provision merchant, called Nautico. We stayed in the Daina apartments in 84 and 85 and after that, if I'm not mistaken, it became Tango.
One abiding memory was buying a bottle of white wine there for 45 ptas!

Default Tango

Local chat says that Tango will close at the end of the season to allow demolition and then development of the site.
A newTango will re-open once the development of the site has taken place.
The accountant who had an office above Tango has already moved out.

Stop Press! Latest gossip!

Local rumour has it that at the end of the season, Tango will be taking over the premises on the corner of the square, to the left of the church, previously Os Cachellos!!

If it's true you heard it first from Frito.
If it's not true, Mallorcaboy has made a sudden re-appearance!

Cheers!

Frito.

Oh goodie. Even less of a distance to walk (and it was only 2 minutes before!).

Is Os Cachellos the posh looking restaurant on the opposite corner to La Piazza?

Tango is closing down and moving to the os cachelos for a while perhaps 2 years and then moving back to the original place.

Mallorcaboy,

Think Mostel is right, the Halifax has now been opened on the ground floor of Iglesia 2 in Roger de Flor, used to be Neptuna 2 ( Bar de Taramantura). The guy who ran Os Cachelos is now one of the head waiters at Stay.
