Smile TheFussies visit la Trencadora

Not visited La Trecadora since the Frenchman ran the place. Very good it was then but it has had a few owners since. Paid a visit the other week, looked as good as ever so we ventured in. The courtyard setting is just as good as before but with a few more tables. No table immediately available but after a short wait at the bar one was soon prepared.

Certainly the best bread and olives of the entire holiday were quickly placed at the table and equally quickly devoured. Ordered a starter for me, a tabaluga salad. I’d no idea what it was other than it contained rocket leaves. When it arrived at the table it was a huge salad stuffed into what I can best described as a large thin based pizza shell. By the time Mrs Fussie and I had finished it she was full. Mains consisted of a pizza for Mrs Fussie and delicious shoulder of lamb for me. I had no problem eating the lamb but Mrs Fussie struggled with exceptionally large Capricciosa pizza. However staff to the rescue and a pizza box containing ¾ of pizza was taken back to PP for lunch the following day. Although not normally a pizza fan I found this to be very tasty indeed.

Coupled with a glass of red and white wine, a large beer, still water and two coffees total bill was 46.20 euros. Overall I thought the portions were generous, food quality excellent all in an exceptional setting. Judging by how busy the restaurant was I think many guests had reached the same conclusion. Thoroughly recommended if visiting Pollensa.

Thanks for what is another clear, concise, honest & helpful report.
I would hope to produce a similar in depth report when Mrs Cumberland has reached her final conclusions on our comestibles consumption over our vaction period.

we too had not been there since it was Babel (never got to eat there then as left after an hour with no food, but that is another story). Decided last weekend to give it a go. After being seated we waited a full 5 minutes for the same waiter to give us menus. The rest of the evening speeded up a bit until it was time to pay. I asked twice for the bill, the waiter said "of course sir", then went to clear some tables, put stuff away etc. I asked again and got a similar response. I was about to walk out to see if there reaction would change as I got to the exit without paying. I am sure they would have demanded money then and given me the bill sharpish. That is not the worst bit. The bill came to 65.50. I left a 50 and a 20. The money was collected. And no change given. We waited for about 10 minutes then I had to ask the waiter for my change which he got directly from the tips tin. That is simply a liberty. It wasn't that busy and they had pretty much packed up around us so they knew what they were doing. I will certainly not be going back.
