Default Update on "the best", please

When we visit in September, it'll be three years since we were last in the area. Restaurants change. Restaurants close. New places open.

Reading the board, I see that one of our favourite "best" places, L'Aup, has gone. And, of three more , there's been barely a mention - Clivia, Restaurant Siller and the Jardin (in Alcudia), so I wonder if they have "gone off".

Is there anywhere new that reaches the same gastro heights? Where's the current "best" for a special meal (although no mentions of Stay, please - unless it's quality has dramatically improved in the last 3 years - http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...3914-stay.html) .

TIA

Clivia is still wonderful, both the service and the food are great.

Hi Hatters,
I did quite a long post on the Jardin last year - see fine dining in Alcudia.
I'm afraid we were not that impressed - really wanted to be believe me, but it just didnt come up to scratch. Read the post and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for replies so far.

Disappointing to hear about Jardin - I would have touted that for a Michelin star based on our 2008 meal. However, I see Belladonna's thread reports on Satyricon - I'd already got pencilled in after seeing it on the SkyBlue Mallorca website.

Still looking for any new "good" places.

John

Hi Harters,
My recommendation would be Ca'n Josep. It's our fave place right now and we've eaten there a few times already this past 2 weeks. We've only been in 4 in total so far because we keep finding reasons to go back to Ca'n Josep.

I would suggest to book a table in advance and Jose, the owner, will take really good care of you I'm sure. Try the Lamb!

I'm sure you'll get other suggestions as everyone has their own personal best. The bottom line is that there are just so many good ones around it's difficult to go wrong. Wherever you go, have a great time!

Hi, you also have to try O'Lume, really delicious food and the owner Jamie is very nice.
Going to PP tomorrow
