Another Fab Week in Puerto Pollensa - Eating out
Just back on Sunday after 9 fantastic days in Puerto Pollensa. Weather was brilliant.
Eating out was great tried a couple of new restaurants this year - here is our list. Friday night - Kashmir Indian in the square - just average service was terrible. Lunch Sat - CodFather - Very good Dinner Sat - Coral - Average Lunch Sun - Tapas Bar in front next door to IRU beautiful selection of tapas with couple of lovely glasses of rose with beautiful view. Dinner Sun (Birthday Meal) Stay - A bit overrated food just average. Monday Evening - Tango - Lovely set meal of the day very good value. Tuesday Lunch Larco - Great pasta and creme brule to die for. Tuesday Evening - Siller This meal was out of this world one of the nicest meals we had, the guy grows his own vegetables and is passionative about the food hubbie had mussels in wild mushroom and cream sauce followed by mallorcan steak, I had lamb. The man make his own wine - really first class meal a bit quiet but worth a visit. Wednesday Lunch - Little Italy - Great place meant to try it the last couple of years, great pizza and pasta. Wednesday - The Ivy Garden Beautiful meal - Hubbie had suckling pig and I had the salmon fantastic - wonderful food and nice garden Thursday - Tiberi Another brilliant place, good value for money and great atmsophere. Friday Back to Ivy Garden Went back for last night meal, both had the tomato and basil soup to start and steak we were not disappointed first class. Saturday - Last meal before leaving our favourite holiday place Little Italy - Great meal to set us on our way. Favourite places: Siller Ivy Garden Little Italy Tiberi Favourite places to drink Bar R Orange Bar - New bar opposite Hotel Daina, cocktails great and staff very friendly. Bar Katys - Sitting having a jug of sangria We met lovely scottish people and enjoyed their company. |
Thanks for that - great stuff!
Love Ivy Garden, Little Italy and Tiberi (and you have to do Tango don't you?) We tried the Kashmir about 5 years ago (I know I know Indian food in Mallorca but it smelt great!) It was fab - food delicious and plenty of it, free starters, free cava, free poppadums and dips, rice included with price of main course, good wine selction (lovely warm Anares - yum!) BUT have heard it has declined somewhat. Interested in "Siller" - directions please and any veggie options? (only 2 1/2 weks to go!) Lala |
Great to see your list of places you enjoyed.
Our kids - 14 and 17 - (not so much kids now - more like annnoying young adults who know everything!) love Little Italy and Tiberi. We went to the Ivy Garden a few years back with friends and had a very dissappoining meal - poor food and disinterested service and haven't been back since - perhaps time to try it again. I haven't been to Siller for decades - it was one of my fathers favourites - we will have to give it a try in August. Our favourites are C'an Ferrar - good value Mallorcian fare with a warm family welcome but can be slow in peak times, and Manduca just next to the Cod Father - fabulously varied menu with little dips to start that you couldn't find in the UK and a pizza menu to make your hear spin, but again if you do not know the 'lingo' or your face isn't known you can get forgotten about. Just try them all - if they are no good let everyone know - if they are good let everyone know!! |
Must agree about Manduca - also does great pasta and kebabs highly recommended.
Service can be a little slow - but hey - it's not like you have anywhere to go in a hurry is there? ;) |
Hi,
Interested in directions to Little Italy and Siller and Tiberi? Many thanks |
Little Italy is on the Pine Walk heading out of the town centre and is highly recommended.
I too would like to know where Siller (the restaurant) is as I am staying in Siller (the area) in August. |
Restaurant Siller directions
Go to CAPRABO Supermarket at roundabout walk towards Formentor turn in second road on right. |
Tiberi Directions
Go to BONYS Bar in square, Walk past Tex Mex restuarant towards Nico's See Tiberi on left hand side. |
Little Italy
I'm just back from 2 weeks and will post where we ate shortly. Have to put list together. We found that we had to book for Little Italy and actually thought that Don Corleone pizzas were better but that's a personal opinion. It is certainly a very busy place. Go along the Pine Walk towards and it's past the turn for Coral and Laroc.
