Frito tends to be a bit of everything (veg, potatoes, meat) diced and fried in a pan - seem to remember my grandma having it and it had liver in it! Instantly put me off!

My husband always has the seafood version and he says that each restaurant has it's own version - suppose it is a bit like paella really. There was one original recipe and each restaurant adapts it according to their own personal taste and what ingredients they have in.
He really enjoys it at C'an Ferrar and I think - Maxims.

There are two main varieties of Frito (fried); Frito Mallorquin with diced potatoes, veg and liver and Frito Marinero where seafood (usally baby squid amongst other things) replaces the liver. Apparently very tasty if you like that kind of thing!

Have to agree with mark and snowy lomo con col and tumbet a must

I love the little peppers fried in garlic and olive oil (can't remember what its called.) Every so often you get a hot one - like Russian Roulette with vegetables!

'They're called pimientos fritos or pimientos verdes. I love them too, although the last few times I've tried I've been disappointed cos there were no hot ones! :eek

Also known as Pimientos Padron. We loves these too - if you get a really hot one, you are supposed to eat some dry bread to help with the heat!

Milk! You should drink milk to put out the fire, although, how many eateries could offer you a pint of semi-skimmed

Hi, I had a starter once and it was red peppers cut in half with prawns in and some kind of sauce with cheese melted on top. They were so tasty but I cant remember where I had them (it wasnt in the square on along the front) it was in a side street with a bar running along the right hand side, and I cant remember what they were called (too much wine)! I know its a long shot but if any PP regulars have had them and know what they are called or how to make them I will be eternally thankfull. I also had them in Lanzarote.

Thanks

Sally

Could it be El Posito? They have a bar on the right hand side as you enter the restaurant.

Plus, they have a starter of red peppers stuffed with seafood on their menu...

Hope this helps!

Jane
