Tango
Just a quick question .... I am thinking of coming over during August, just myself and my two daughters (10 and 12). How far from the Marina is Tango? Don't want to be walking too far in the evening on our own! Many thanks

Hi Emmalou,
Well I would anticipate at least 20 to 25 minutes ...... it is a fair way, however it is along the front and quite safe and a nice walk.
Maybe you could compromise and have taxi one way.
Enjoy your holiday

I know you do a fair bit of walking Susie and I am impressed that you could do that walk in 20 to 25 mins! When we have walked from Llenaire - The Galleon Hotel area - it takes about that time to get to the marina. Tangos is probably 5 or 10 mins further back - obviously at our walking pace!
Just depends on what your holiday walking pace is - and what pair of shoes you are wearing at the time! However long it is though, I agree that its a lovely coastal walk.

I understand Susie. It would be interesting for someone to do the walk and time it wouldn't it? All walks are so individual unless you are in a race - you end up stopping to look at a villa, or the sunset, or the puppy in the mountains etc! A friend of ours who stayed with us at Llenaire couldnt wait for us to be ready when he wanted to see the football and managed the walk to the bar in PP in about 10 mins! Pretty speedy in anyones books!

Thanks for the replies, think best option would be taxi there and maybe walk or taxi back. Although probably if I asked the girls they would rather stay in the port!! Coming over in July with my other half and no children for a couple of days so might try it then instead. Less stressful I think!

Walk already timed
Illa D'Or to Tango 45 mins if you walk briskly ( I hasten to add this has only been timed on an April morning and an October evening .... I woulld say longer in the July heat )
So that would fit quite nicely with 26 to 30mins from marina roundabout
Same walk has also take me 2 hours .... but that had something to do with the stop for a cocktail at the Daina
Seriously though I love walking to tango ...... makes me feel like I can eat anything I like and feel completely guilt free ... but then I am so stuffed I have to walk back just to feel "normal" again

When we go to Tango we get a bus from the roundabout near the ice cream kiosk and then when you are ready to go Tangos will ring a taxi for you

Unless someone is very adverse to walking i would recommend you walk, it's not far. We do it every night on holiday, there and back, even when we're dining in the centre. Lovely per-dinner evening stroll, helps keep the holiday weight under control

Emmalou, do make an effort to take your children to Tango. They will be welcomed and looked after. There's also plenty of choice on the menu for the girls.
We always feel safe walking in P.P., day or night. It will still be light in early evening in August, so no problems on that count. The suggestions above are all good. The bus is very cheap if you choose that, it's also a beautiful walk. Our preference was to get a taxi to Tango from the Marina Taxi Rank and walk back with no bother about how long it took - about 25 mins if I remember correctly. Though the choice is yours. As mentioned above, the staff at Tango are more than pleased to ring a taxi for you if you don't want to walk back, and it shouldn't break the bank. You could enquire about taxi fares earlier, before you set off.
