Default Restaurant Bellavista

Finally got around to trying out the Pension Bellavista after all the recommendations and so glad we did, you have to try this restaurant it is now our favorite in the port. If you are a fan of hippy chic, if you like it when all the chairs donít match and there are soft seating areas and hammocks in the trees you will love this place. It is set next to the Pension in the beautiful gardens amongst the colourful flowers and trees, shaded by the fig and fruit trees, it is a calm oasis in the bustle of the port. There are big soft cushions and rugs to sit on and a large chill out area in the sun, and they play chill out music, jazz and world music.

It was lunch time and we were the only ones there, in fact we could have been the only ones in the port, it was so peaceful and with a bottle of local wine and a few beers we could have sat there all afternoon. The vegetarian menu is a delight with so many lovely dishes to choose from, the food is fresh and tasted divine, it is of a very high quality and even if you are not veggies you will find wholesome delicious food to try. I plumped for vegetable humus to start and a vegetable stir fry with bean sprouts, toasted hazel and almonds, beautiful tasty well presented food. Wife had spinach rolls with a red pepper coulee.

We were stuffed but there were lots of homemade desserts to try as well as a full range of sandwiches, starters and mains as well as smoothes shakes and cocktails. I imagine it is very busy in the evenings and with only a limited number of tables it would be worth booking if you are going. So straight to the top of our favourite 5 in the port, a wonderful find and we will be retuning next time for sure.

Yes - it is a little oasis! We went a couple of times last October and were amazed at the quality of the food and the great laid back atmosphere - lovely and unstuffy and unpretentious - just a lovely relaxing experience. Looking forward to next month - just hope it doesnt get too popular now

Default restaurant bellavista

Hi sws97sdg,

I am so pleased to read your review, you posted at exactly the right time for me - I will be holidaying alone this year for the first time and I have been trying to decide whether to stay at the Pension Bellavista or return to another Pension where I have stayed several times before. Your review has decided it for me, if the Pension is as lovely as the restaurant sounds to be then I'm sure I'll be fine.

Thanks
Heather

Hi Jiggy, no its the other side of the main road in. If you start at the roundabout at the port head along to-wards the main beach, go past the car park on th left until you come to the first small beach, turn right up a side street and with your back to the sea walk up crossing the first road and its in that area, just follow signs for Hostal Pension Bellavista
