What makes you think it might be closed? Hope it is not as it's our favourite lunch time venue!

I think there was talk at the end of the season that the lease was not to be renewed. There were many negative posts regarding Sinbads at that time too. Not sure where they were now but will probably come up under search.

Simbads has been open since the start of April.. Sexy suckling pig, Lucious lamb, flirty fish etc...

Yes but what about the food! Lol

I am sure I didnt dream it or was it about the German woman I think thats where she is from that works there leaving tried to find an old thread but cant so must be going nuts just ignore me.

Was unfortunate enough to have eaten here last week the worst dinning experience of my life,I suppose the blackboards should have been enough of a warning

You need to be careful too as they encourage you in with their blackboards offering good value menu and then tell you that it is not available but recommend something else. What they don't tell you is that the recommendation is at least double the cost. We were ripped off badly there as well as having awful food. The Waitress can be either rude or very over familiar with the males in the party. Personally I would rather starve then go back to this restaurant.

Some will say I am not qualified to post re simbads as I have ne er eaten there
However, it just looks terrible - all those blackboards - visually it just puts me off
Surely it must have the same affect on many people but on the other hand they have been there for years so must have some loyal clientel and also pick up passing trade
So what is it about a place that looks as it does that attracts people in ?

CD

I have passed here quite a few times and it always seems busy. I always think if somewhere is busy then it must be good. I am sure many people do the same. Anyway, I did try it once and found the food mediocre and staff a bit surly. Will not rush back as there are many better restaurants in PP.

Adios

Dave

I am afraid that my opinion of Simbad is the same as many other's and I have had the misfortune to eat here on a few occassions - as has been said the food has always been very poor - normally overcooked and as Eleanor said, the owner is overly familiar and suggestive (I don't mind a bit of friendly banter and flirting) bordering on crude.

I will not return if I can avoid it.

With Simbads you get what you pay for. A very varied menu. both snacks and A La Carte menu in front of the beach.. At reasonable prices.
I'm sure with the fact that as it is one of the busiest restaurants along the sea front they must be doing something right.

Sorry but I have to disagree. You don't get what you pay for! You pay for good food and good service and i'm afraid from experience you receive neither.
The fact that it is often full is in my opinion, simply down to location - much pass by trade which is encouraged to enter by the so called good value menu on the blackboard as well as that poor parrot (?) which is caged on their front.
Plenty of other places which do deliver good value and good service. I will never return as I don't need too!

My Uncles family ate there recently & said the food was dreadfull, when challenged the staff were indifferent.
I will get him to post with a full review.

I tried simbads about 5 years ago. Never again!!!! However every time we are passing and see "Maria" We always Have a chuckle as my wife and i nicknamed her " Mimi la bonk" as she reminds us of the small blonde lady in Allo Allo.:):)

Ghastly place and ghastly over priced rubbish food. Would like to take a look at the kitchen area as have spoken to someone who insisted on doing just that! Surfice it to say he would never ever eat there!
