Hi Egon,

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I would suggest you haven't eaten in enough PP restaurants to make that sweeping statement! In all the years we have been coming to PP, Marcos and his staff have always been fantastic. The quality of food, level of service and value for money, all make it ONE of our favourite restaurants. The enchiladas and fajitas are delicious.

I too think that Corkey is being way too harsh although agree that everyone is entitiled to their own opinion. We eat there every year, the food we had has always been great especially the chocolate brownies, the staff are wonderful with the children and it is in a great spot for people watching.
Each to their own I suppose

Corkey, it would be good if you could tell us what what was so wrong when you visited this restaurant, did you complain?, if so what was the response? .
A lot of business owners here do read this forum and most appreciate the feed back, be it good or bad. But if you don't specify what was wrong they can't put it right.

We've eaten in there a few times and always had good food and very friendly service. Staff were very kind to my little boy.

Maybe it was just a one-off bad meal? Would recommend another try.

Chicken Enchiladeas, delicious. although my brother and hubbie were a bit disapointed with portion sizes, althought they have big appetites

Nico's is also a favourite of our children, although Tex Mex is not a personal favourite of mine - but this is as good as any I have tried. Corkey, are you sure you're not confusing it with the other PP Tex Mex establishment?

I have tried Nico's on one occasion (2010), also the other one in the square a few years ago .....didn't have any complaints. They are perfectly ok when one doesn't want to do fancy eating at fancy prices (of course plenty of others reasonable restaurants).....in fact they are VERY good value for money and service good in my experience. Can't and won't go into the one on the Pinewalk!! I still miss Mestrals ( pre Tex Mex).... first place I ever ate in PP soon after we landed, that is the moment I fell in love with PP....and I loved it and WISH it was still there!!

We have been going to PP for at least 10 years and have eaten in the majority of the restaurants in the Port. Maybe they had an "off night" as the Chimichangas were like slop no where near as good as the other tex mex.

Sorry to stir up a hornets nest

No probs Corkey....we are all entitled to our opinion.....just wondered what went wrong I suppose. The BEST of restaurants can have an off night and if you experience one one is inclined not to go back....perfectly natural. Do give it another try!!

Which branch?

I also agree... Bring back the Mestral albeit minus its sarcastic and surly waiters and management! All is forgiven!
