You are nearly as spoilt for choice as you are in the port, there must be almost as many restaurants, have a look at some of the reports or just head for the main square or the bottom of the steps and have a look and see if there is anything that appeals, these areas have the highest concentration of places to try.

There are 2 restaurants that we would highly recommend.

Il Giardino at the bottom of the square - yes, it's Italian, but the food is fantastic. It's not often that we eat at the same place twice during a holiday, but when we were in Pollensa for 1 week in October 2007, we ate at Il Giardino early in the week and enjoyed it so much that we went back on the last evening, and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. We're certainly planning a meal there this year.

The second one, unfortunately I don't know the name of (!) but if you stand in the square with Il Giardino behind you and look at the church in front of you, there is a small alleyway/path to the right of the church, that goes up between the side of the church on the left and a small bar on the right. Follow that alleyway, and it does a swift right and then left - at the point where it turns left is a tiny little restaurant that doesn't look like anything - in the evening they have about 2 or maybe 3 table outside in the alleyway. It's a fantastic place to sit and people watch, but the suckling pig is to die for. In fact, it's so good that when we are over next month, it is our daughters 21st birthday, and she has already declared that we are going to this particular restaurant for her birthday meal!! Suits me fine!!!!

For me it has to be El Brio - Leagues ahead of every restaurant that we have eaten in Pollensa town.

I'm not sure if it is the one that kcdc230 means, but it is in a similar location.

Leave the top of the square, heading through the alley to the right of the church. Follow it to the right and right again and eventually it brings you to a little square with the old fountain with a cockerel, called Placa Almoina.

Superb menu of the day, which is very well priced and uses very high quality ingredients. Lovely location to sit outside, and whilst not as busy as the main square, so very traditional and relaxing.

Not huge portions, and probably not one for younger children, but well worth it.

If you are staying in the Port, certainly make a point of going to both Pollensa and the old town of Alcudiane evening. Both are beautiful, with a huge choice of restaurants and a different atmosphere to the port.

The La Font del Gall is run by a Scottish couple and serves excellent food. Another favorite is Il Giardino. Situated at the bottom of the steps in the town square, it's a classic Italian restaurant with a French touch. Both are very popular in summer and it's best to pre-book if you want to eat outside. We tend to favour these two as "special" occassion restaurants, as they tend to be more pricey! Another fave is Can Olesa, next door to Il Giardino. Again, being in the main square you can experience the atmosphere whilst eating good quality food. One we've never visited, but is highly recommended by other forums is "Clivia". This is off the main square, and therefore quiet. Seating is indoors only - this has always dissuaded us as we tend to look forward to eating "alfresco" whilst holidaying abroad! Bon apetit!

You won't be disappointed! Can't wait to go back in August!
