Thanks for all your hard work again MWC, it is becoming one the hottest topic on the forum lately.

Well, thats 2 years on the trot now that Stay has been voted the best restaurant in PP by the people who matter the most. The customers!
I must admit, its always been my fav. I had my 50th birthday there this year (yes i know i dont look it ) and all the family said it was brilliant. 10 out of 10 for the location, 10 out of 10 for the service, and of course 10 out of 10 for the food. Can you tell that i like it?

Yes, have to agree with you there. Dont think it can be beaten for location, nothing better with an outside table on a balmy night in June. Service & food is great too. Dont get me wrong there are lots of great places in PP, but its the combination that makes Stay our fav place to eat.

I agree too

A lot of people don't go to Stay as they think it's very pricey (a la carte is) but if you stick to the MDD it is IMO the best value in the Port.

Agree 100% - it may not be the most original food always, but I absolutely agree that the MDD is incredible value. We have never had a bad meal at the Stay, and slow service only once (just after they reopened following the rebuild). The owner is charm itself and his staff have by and large been with him for many years... which speaks volumes. We usually end up going there at least twice during our holidays as the overall experience is so lovely. I have even come to terms with the see-through loo doors!

We've often thought that the little freebie thingie that they bring you at the beginning of the meal is generally more interesting in terms of flavour than the other items on the menu - perhaps they should let the chef do a tasting menu every so often so he can unleash his creativity?

Although we are only over for a real flying visit, we just couldn't resist a "quick" tapas lunch at Stay in the sunshine. Then met up with a lovely new forum member, and ended up with a suntan!! No such thing as a quick lunch I have learned this week!

Cant disagree with you there Debz, have to keep trying it out though to make sure the standard doesn't slip! One problem with the loos today, the light in the "anti room" part just before you go into the loos, was not working. Therefore, the signs were not clear, and a guy walked into the ladies! I'm hoping those glass doors were NOT see through, as I did hear him make a strange noise just before he turned round and went back out!!
