O'Lume.
We went to O'Lume last night, had a glass of Cava and croquettes (on the house), we shared a warm starter of crayfish, hubby had lamb chops and i had a fillet steak, both cooked to perfection. We washed it down with a delicious Albarino and finished with cafe solos, brandy for hubby, Hierbas on ice for me and of course those fab homemade choccies. Thank you Jaime and chef for yet another wonderful meal.
Jaime gave me a list of lunchtime specials for this year and says he has reduced the prices on these and also on drinks. Here is the menu :-
Mixed salad = 5.10€
Russian salad = 3.80€
Trampo with tuna = 4.50€
Squid Romana = 7.60€
" small = 7.50€
Small octopus = 7.80€
Sardines = 6.70€
Spag Bol = 4.80€
Penne with aubergines and Serrano = 4.80€
Marinated pork loin = 6.90€
Drinks.
Lager = 3€ a pint and 1.40€ a half.
Soft drinks, shandy and juices = 1.80€.
Glass of house wine = 1.80€.
" of Albarino White = 2.30€.
" of Ribera Red = 2.30€.
" of Cava = 2.10€.

Glad you had a nice meal Sparky
One of those places I have just never got around to trying out
although walked past both the old & new locations many times.
The lunchtime options look good
Maybe next time

Oh Sparky! You know how to rub it in So disappointed we couldn't make it over this Winter, at least i see the DB starting to highlight through their letters page and Comment about the lack of flights and the state of Winter tourism in Mallorca. Heyho! all booked up for June and August, maybe sooner. Supply the planes and Smiddy will there

Yep, read that today Smiddy. Hopefully with more and more moans someone will take up the challenge and put on some more winter flights from various airports. Maybe out in August again so could bump into you both again.

Sorry about that Smiddy , Jaime was saying how quiet it has been this year and it has also been reported in the Mallorcan newspapers.

Belladonna, You forgot to mention that in no way should Smiddy be catogorised with the "wealthy pensioners" mentioned in the article. I plan to do a lot more damage before the bus pass pops through the letterbox ( and after).

Sparky, You can tell Jaime, we were only absent in body, we fully intend to make up for lost time when we get over, his profit margin has merely been postponed!

I thought the same!!!
But....Unfortunately, Hamcas, a "half" may be a small beer, not necessarily half of a large beer!

I think there is often a bit of confusion over this because the Spanish don't generally drink pints. So they order a glass of beer known as a "cana" which we say is a half but when they want a small beer they order a "canita" (that's what it sounds like to me) which is more like the size of a glass of wine.
British Weights and Measures or Trading Standards would have a field over here in most establishments .
But back to O'Lume you can get a "Short of Lager" (canita) for 1.20€

Maybe so but it works both ways... if, like me, you are partial to the odd G&T or, like my Dad, a Cuba Libre then the spirit measures served knock our 25 & 35ml stingy British metric weights and measures into a cocked hat!
