Default Bar Bon Dia

Meant to post this as soon as we got back but only getting round to it now. We had another great 2 weeks in PP this year. We were there last week Sept and first week Oct. Bar Bon Dia was open for the first couple of days then shut for the rest of the holiday. To say we were gutted would be an understatement. My dad an myself enjoyed our mid afternoon and after dinner pint in this pub. The owner John was always really nice. Does anyone know if its still open?

Hello Daz, can understand how you would have felt finding the bar closed. Such a friendly place and we met some wonderful people there on our two visits to PP in 2010.

Back in September we were staying in an apartment next door and we remember the bar closing suddenly. We found out later that their son had been taken seriously ill with pneumonia and that they had rushed back to blighty to be at his bedside. It was a harrowing time for John and Chris but the last we heard was that he was well on the road to recovery.

We know they were looking forward to a holiday when the season ended and fully expect that they will be open as usual in 2011. We’ll be staying in the area once again next year [our favourite part of PP] and will be visiting for a nightcap [or three] whenever possible.
