Talking Cuarenta Y Tres

Thanks to Jaime at O'lume, I've found my new favourite after dinner drink.
Used to always have a Amaretto or a carajillo, but now its 43 all the time. It's a lovely sweet liquor, really smooth. Got a bottle while we were out there(about 14 euro) which just about saw out the holiday(sure the wife was putting it on her cornflakes) and we brought a bottle home which is going down well(gunna have to get the marker pen out) and bringing back all the memories. If you havent already, try it its lovely

Default 43 liqueur

Yes 43 is one of my favourites too. Often pick up a bottle at the airport when I'm leaving esp if it's on offer!

I expect I am the last to spot this but I noticed a sign on the airport shop in Palma, saying that you can also buy in there when you arrive.

Jaime also introduced me to this drink last year.We brought some home from the airport and have since had to ask friends to bring us some back from their travels as we have been unable to source it as yet in the UK.If anybody knows of any stockists I would be most grateful.

Thanks GG I have learnt something new today too!
I'm sure Bella knew that Amaretto is almond - I didn't though - probably because i haven't had the need to really think about it lol But I know now!

LOL! Thanks for being gentle with me! Yes, of COURSE I knew it was almond, which I love - I have no idea why my fingers typed coffee at the time, Tia Maria was getting muddled up in my mind at the same time!
GG, I do a great instant so you'll be safe!

This works very well in a 'Tubo' (tubular) glass:
Ice
A measure of 43
Limon

Pour 43 over ice, leave to cool for about 10 mins

Pour in Limon slowly so it jeeps separated.
Drink the 43 through the Limon,
Delicious.

I would describe it as having a vanilla/caramel type flavour

Is it anything like Pacharan (really not sure how to spell that !) Someone introduced me to that last year and it was lovely with ice. Jaime does have a habit of knowing what we like so BD we may need to give it a go on the 10th !
