Hi,

There's a thread about smoking in the Miscellaneous section which has provoked a few comments - from smokers and non-smokers. I don't think the ban on smoking indoors has reached Spain yet. It may filter in over the next year but I really don't know.

You may find that smoking is widespread in restaurants - at the moment I think it's a fact of life on the continent although we have just returned from a day trip to France and found the Seafrance ferry and Cite Europe non-smoking (which may be down to the fact the place is invaded by the Brits who now expect it!).

The thread can be found here:

I have never been bothered by smoke in restaurants in Puerto Pollensa. It is so lovely and warm in the evenings, it's nice to sit outside, especially watching the children play in the square or the twinkling lights over the bay. The smoke must just waft away on the warm breeze!!! but seriously, i really don't think that smoke will be a problem.

Default Non Smoking restuarants

As I understood the Majorcan smoking regulations, small places could be either smoking or non smoking but larger establishments had to provide a non smoking area.
