Just want to say thoroughly enjoyed our 5th visit to PP, weather was good and even though some food was good and some not so good we still love our hols in PP and would recommend the place to anyone.
2/9 – arrived 9ish at
Playa Mar, dumped cases and the procs headed for Trios, set menu and as ever not disappointed price still includes bottle of one of my favourites (Faustino) and remember my hubbies desert of whisky gateau was yummy!
3/9 – after reading about Fletchers decided to give it a try. 3 courses for 12.50 well what can I say, everything about this place is right, the freshness of the food , the presentation, we had three courses, both had trout which was beautiful and our son ate free, (he said it was the best spaghetti he’s had on holiday) a bottle of house white, soft drink and liqueur on the house all for 36 euro!! Amazing. I must say too that this was the night Scotland played there first qualifier, the place was packed and although Maureen was run off her feet the service did not suffer in the slightest.
4/9 – L’Olivera – never been before, food and service fine but isn’t one that I would put at the top of my list to revisit.
5/9 – Pollensa Town – first time we have visited the old town and thought it was lovely. The restaurant, Eu Centro? was on a small cobbled street, starters of frito and seafood frito, I had lamb which was perfectly cooked, they did us a childs portion of cod with garlic gratin and hubby had cod ‘vizcaina’. Veg and potatoes were delicious, the portions were very big so couldn’t manage a sweet, setting was superb - we left very happy!!
6/9 –
Hells Kitchen – mixed feelings about this one – maybe we made the wrong choices from the menu, but I had Calf’s liver and OH had Thai Curry and kids meal of ribs, we just felt it lacked something. Puddings were a bit stodgy and lukewarm. Not sure if we would go back – but then everyone has different tastes and what suits some doesn’t suit another.
7/9 - Guru – another one we have walked past lots of times we were tempted by the specials boards and by the young man at front of house who told us we wouldn’t be disappointed – he was right! Starters of meatballs and stuffed mussels, salmon and prawn kebab with mushroom risotto for OH, chicken with garlic sauce, veg and gratin potatoes and childs pizza (which was huge and tasty!!) - no room for sweets but thoroughly enjoyed it.
8/9 – Bodega (or C’an Ferra) not sure what people call it? Always wanted to try it and had the Fish Zarzuela between us which was delicious and huge!! Childs meatballs and chips and drinks – again no room for sweets tonight.
