Default Update needed on where to eat in the Old town

We have booked a week for early Autumn near to the Old Town.
We weren't able to get across last year.
We are familiar with most restaurants and in the past have dined at Clivia, La Fonda,Font Dell Gall, Il Giardino,C'an Olesa, El Temple and Celler Es Moli.
We have a wide taste in food but if possible tend to eat traditional local food when abroad.
In recent years our favourites for traditional food and local ambience have been El Temple ( which we discovered some years ago when our flight was seriously delayed and everywhere was closed yet the owner accommodated us by serving us at 11.45 pm on a Saturday night ) and the rustic charm of Celler es Moli which was recommended to us by Debz1).
Are the latter two still as good as ever and have we missed any other good ones along the way or have any new ones worth visiting sprung up or emerged since our last visit in Autumn 2008?
Any info to update us would be appreciated.

We eat at both La Font del Gall and Ca n'Olesa this August and both were up to their usual high standard.

Es Moli is still excellent - we also had a very good authentic Mallorcan meal earlier this year at Bar Nou (down the alleyway to the left of the church - opposite La Fonda).

La Trencadora is also good with an Italian flavour, as is the Italian restaurant Scacco Matte (much used by locals).

Try Manzanas & Peras situated at the bottom of the Calvari steps. It opened last year. The food is fantastic and so cheap. We found it by accident in July towards the end of our holiday. We are back in PP later this month and will be visiting the old town if only just to go back there.

Thanks for the info sws and kate1.
It's good to know that ones we have tried before are still as good and to hear of new ones we haven't tried.
We have often passed Bar Nou but never eaten there and used to go to Trencadora several years ago before it changed hands.

My favourite place in the Old Town is Numero Ocho it has only been open a couple of years but the food is fantastic. I ate there 3 times during my stay in late July/early August and was never disappointed. The owner is a really nice chap also, he always makes time to come over and pass the time of day. Its in Placa Major no prizes for guessing which number .

Agree with you on Bar Ocho, we didn't eat in there but the food looked great, we always have a pre and after dinner drink there, very nice people as you say, part British owned, the owners daughter was there working to help them out during the summer, great friendly atmosphere.

It seemed to be heaving every night last week so is obviously doing something right - I agree, the food looked great, and they've created a really nice ambience with the table settings etc. Definitely on our must-visit list now.

We go to the square most days and have often had a drink at Juma so will definitely take a look at what Bar Ocho has to offer.

All you Old Town regulars are right, the places you mention are all good and suit..
a variety of tastes.
However, the one that doesnt get much press and is excellent is Pasada d Ariant,at the bottom of the main sq.
Staff friendly, food to suit everyone, prices are a fair mid-range. Well worth a visit.
Try it you wont be dissappointed!

As you say jonquet , Pasada d Ariant "doesn't get much press ".
We often pass by but haven't really taken a serious look at it but will take a closer look this time at what it has to offer.
