Default Balaixa

Does anyone know what's happened to Balaixa? Pollensa told me the farmhouse was up for rent so has anyone taken it over?

Any residents in the know?

Jane

Would have thought KiethMarwell,Mallorcaboy and Smiddy might know as they frequent Bistro Balaixa?

Poppy, Mallorcaboy is no longer a resident, so i don't think he will be up-to date, although i've went once or twice and enjoyed i could not be described as a regular, over to Keith.

I'm going over to PP 1st Feb, will check then.

Default Balaixa

There is no sign of anyone about at Balaixa.
I can't find any evidence of the place being for sale or for rent, but.........
It's intersting that there is no advert for Balaixa in the Eating Out section of the adverts, so does Pollensa know any more?

If Balaixa is gone it is a sad day for me and my family. We had some great times there both for lunch and evening meals.
We are back in PP for a weekend in Feb, our first visit since moving back to UK. Have already warned my stomach that a visit to Stay, O Lume and Can Cuarassa is approaching

Blimey Smiddy, you're up late!!
No, we are there a couple of weeks later.
I've found it a little hard to come back to PP, but I know this weekend is going to get me rolling again, so I'm sure we'll meet up sometime and I'll bring a big bottle of "Slimline Tonic" with me

Re Balaixa,

as some of you have noticed, they have not renewed their advert. We were asked to include some text stating that it was for up for rent & this can still be seen on their advert on the goalcudia.com website as this advert has not yet expired.

I think that they still be keeping on the bistro in Cala San Vicente but I'm afraid I don't know any more.

Default Re Balaixa

I am so disappointed to hear this sad news. I have enjoyed some wonderful meals over the years. It will be such a shame to lose Balaixa.
I hope to find out something while I am over there.

Default Balaixa

Just back from PP last weekend and having made some enquiries about Balaixa I have in on good authority (but can't guarantee it!! ) that the lease expired and Arnie and Mandy have taken themselves off to the mainland ( Granada? )and purchased a property and will be doing bed and breakfast. However the same person also told me that they plan to come back for the summer to run the bistro in Cala.

So no news about Balaixa opening under different management?

I must admit when we were there in the summer, it was a bit off-putting to see the car-park of the new SYP supermarket backing onto the pool area of Balaixa. It must have taken away that "rural idyll" feel the restaurant had.
