TRIP REPORT - flying visit
 

My son and I came over last Sunday for 5 days to work on our apartment and I had decided that we would try some new restaurants that had been recommended on here (my son has turned into a bit of a foody since working in a local Gastro Pub!)

That said - had to stick with tradition so first night was Martin's aka C'an Ferrar (behind the tobacconist on the front by the roundabout). As ever good value, good service and good atmosphere. Pan y alioli then tapas to start comprising Frito Marinere, spinach croquettes, meatballs and Calamares Romana followed by pepper steak with chips salad and their lovely fried french beans and bacon - yum - washed down with cana, a galss of rosado (Toni has improved the quality of his Rosado now:)) and a 50cl bottle of Ferrer Binissalem tinto. About 40 euros

Second night was Tribeca - please see my post under Tribeca May 2010 :eek: 42 euros and paid the price!

Third night my son fancied a Tiberi burger so there we went. Starter of hand made potatoes and peppers turned out to be a plate of chips with a couple of Padron peppers and red pepper thrown in - a bit disappointing! Burgers were nice but I did have a bit of a dodgy tum the next day - could have been anything though:confused: Always good happy service especially from the over friendly young lady who served us and made us feel VERY welcome. Probably about 45 euros.

Last night we planned to try C'an Joseph and despite being invited to the Stay by some friends my decided to stick to our plan and went to Joseph's.

It was every bit as good as it's reputation - my son ahde mussel to start (didn't even know he liked them and I had a warm salad of something with fried serrano ham. Both excellent. Main course Son had Peppered chicken breast and I had the lamb shank.

We had noticed that the main courses were served with jacket potatoes:eek: which neither my son nor I are very keen on when fine dining so Joseph very kindly got the kithen to rustle up some sauteed patato which complimented the rest of the meals perfectly and a nice selection og different veg too - all in all a very pleasurable experience. Bill must have been about 70 euros.

We then popped across to join our friends at the Stay for a swift drinkie and then back to La Rosa Blanca for a nightcap.

Lunches were mainly a quick snack at Aries with a Cana of three - about 10 to 12 euros a head.

Managed a quick dip in the sea on Thursday afternoon over at Mal Pas - very refreshing it was too

Just nice to be able to spend even a little time in PP (did seem a bit quieter than normal which suits me!)

LOL GG, I will never forget hubby's face when he too ordered these,the look of amazment and disappointment!!
We went one night when we just wanted a quick meal but another night we tried over the road at Nico's and found it to be just that bit better, delightful service....definitely cheap and very cheerful!! I don't understand when people say PP has got dearer!!:confused: You can pay as little or as much as you please....the choice is all yours!!
