Default Restaurant recommendations for Wheat free

Hi there,

My young Nephew will be visiting this area with his parents soon. He has Celiac so he cannot eat wheat. Can anyone recommend a restaurant or any local dishes or menus which offer wheat free or doesn't have wheat in?

I understand there is a lot of fish and meats on the menus in this area can anyone give me some examples and what they are served with please. (so we can try him with some before he comes!)

Thanks in advance,

Em

Em,

Have a couple of friends who are celiacs and they have no problem when they come here at any place . What they due is download off the internet a paragraph explaining ( obviously in Spanish ) and they show it whenever the menus are brought. Always been no problem and you would be amazed that most places will deal with it.

Enjoy your trip

Yes, you really shouldn't have a problem - usually when fish or meat is served it tends to be quite plainly grilled and you can choose not to have a sauce. Loads of restaurants offer this type of food. Vegetables also tend to be fairly unadorned.

Em, Don't be afraid to pop into any restaurant morning or afternoon and discuss that evenings meal, i think you'll find most mentioned on this board will be happy to help. Restaurants are used to people with alergies.

Emme, I have suffered with wheat intolerance for years but do have the occasional bread, however if your nephew is coeliac then it is important that he doesn't consume wheat. I was always told to say no como trigo or no trigo which translates I cannot eat flour or no flour. You may find a better saying however, I always managed to eat quite well without a problem
