Hi all,

please can we get this thread back on track & keep it simple.

If anyone has eaten at or seen the menu for a Menu del Dia (set menu) in the evening recently, then do post here. (See the start of http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...us-2009-a.html as it worked well last year).

Just list the restaurant, price & a summary of what it does/doesn't include.

If you'd like to discuss a particular restaurant or MDD in general do start another thread. Thanks.

Default C'An Torrens

We had the MDD in C'an Torrens (formerly C'Andreu) on the main square 2 weeks ago.
There were great choices on each course - all freshly cooked for 12.50 euros. The menu board is posted outside so you know what the choices are going to be. Two of us had paella starter - and it was a large serving with plenty of meat & seafood in it - really enough for a whole meal! Our other friend chose salad for his starter and once again it was huge & freshly prepared.
Main courses were pork chops and chips and salad garnish or fillets of panga fish with chips & salad starter. Desserts were fairly run of the mill but fine - fruit, creme caramel or ice cream or pudding. The big change from C'Andreu days is that you only get a glass of wine with the meal not a whole bottle and no gaseosa either. Very good service though.

The whole meal was so good that we went back for an evening a la carte dinner which I can only describe as terrible - steaks were served virtually raw, sent them back and they were also very tough, gristly and fatty. So my advice would be to stick to the MDD!

The problem with this thread is that virtually ALL restaurants are offering MDD because there are not the tourists around and they are all fighting for business .

Still, not down to me to stop it !!!!

Hi, please can you confirm that C'an Torrens offer an evening MDD.

Most places offer a lunch one but we'd like to know who is offering an evening MDD - even if they all are.

Please Keep it Simple.

Just give the name, price, no. of courses, if wine is included.

If you'd like to include a review, which is always welcome, do post it separately & just refer to it here.

Once the summer holidays start some place may stop/reduce the MDD so do post here about that too. Thanks

Bonyslad, you were not slapped down at all. I was just trying to make this thread useful for people who would like a quick list of where to find a MDD as we did last year. If you're out there at the moment & see who's offering them & for how much, do post here. Thanks

Great MDD's at La Piazza and Trio - for about 15/16 euro including wine (a bottle at trio). And yes Sparky, Hells Kitchen is good as well! You just need to do a bit of Menu board research while you're there - one of my favourite holiday occupations!

Point taken, Pollenca .

Just trying to point out it's like trying to replicate every menu here at the moment . Will keep you posted though as and when these come off as the season unfurls.
