Default Scacco Matto

Aka the old Piccolo Forno... Can echo previous comments by Ray that this is as good as ever. Other half is over in Pollensa for one night only (on business... he says) and just had to go and get his regular fix of beef carpaccio and huge pizza. He said it was every bit as delicious as they used to be. 7E for the pizza, which is comparable I guess with the UK. And better quality. The menu doesn't seem to be much smaller than previously (when it was vast and it took me forever to choose). Apparently they have knocked an archway through from the big main restaurant into the smaller bit which used to be next door - the wood oven is now in the smaller bit and they will be doing takeaways from there. They have completely redecorated apart from the tables and it looks very smart. It was also packed, apparently, and he was lucky to get a table at 9PM on a Sunday evening.

He relayed all this to me first thing this morning - whilst sitting 'having a coffee in the square while the sun rises over the Puig - oh, and it's a beautiful day, blue skies and warm sunshine!' As my daughter said, 'Daddy is supposed to be there to work - that's what he told us, but he's just having a really nice time, isn't
he?' Oh well - only 18 more sleeps till we are all there again...
