Default Gigi's Bar

Happy New Year from frozen Yorkshire. Does anyone remember Gigi's bar. We are coming to Pollenca this year and wondered if it is still open.

Think you may be disappointed Mattsmam if it is the same one that Sparky mentions in the following post

Hi Mattsmam, yes i remember Gigis very well but that was a very long time ago. Gillian and David are still living here in the port, we meet up regularly and chat about the old days. As Favie says i have made a previous post which says that Gigis is going to open this week as a Chinese. The good news is that it's the couple from the old El Pozo where O'Lume have relocated.

Sparky, Couldn't remember were Gigi's was located, but Mrs S has just informed me it,s about 50 yds from our apartment, Doh! Been empty for years and nice to see these places getting a bit of life back, but, another Chinese??. Think we'll have to re-name the place Chinatown soon. Beats me how they all hope to make money and and survive.

I for one enjoy a Chinese meal anytime i'm over and always make a point of going, but think we have more than enough already, still suppose better to have the place open than sitting boarded up.

Hi Smiddy, in a way it's not really another chinese because it's the people who used to have the El Pozo site where O'Lume is now. I do agree with you that there are more than enough in the port but as you say maybe it's better than having places boarded up.

Sparky,

Has La Villa ( ex La Vall ) survived ? Rarely see anybody in it.

Are Don & Gigi still there ( Smiley Laundry) ??? Thought they were re-assigning business in Dec.

Thanks & regards
