Hi BL, i was told about this closure, on the QT, last month by the owner of another restaurant. He also told me that they owed thousands of euros.
Such a shame because i know it was very popular with many people including an Italian chef i know who works in PP.

What a shame
One of our favourite places to eat.
Often very busy in the winter with locals on weekends.
When we visited in February for my Birthday holiday the place was packed on the weekend. Plenty of atmosphere
Although when we visited in October the place was very quiet nearly every night.
The staff always pleasant, such a shame if this has gone and I feel sorry for the staff that have lost jobs.

Friend of ours who lives in the block above Picollo advises that there were 3 partners involved in the business and only one has done a 'runner' - the other two are trying to start up again.

A little bit of light at the end of the tunnel I hope! Will they keep the same premises do you think, or will they need to relocate? Keep your ears open for us all!

GUTTED!!! Been desperate to try this place. Only found out about it while on our last visit in 08,(no pp last year due to the arrival of our 2nd daughter) and for various reasons never quite made it until our last day, when I had to literally drag the daughter from the pool, and the wife off the sunbed and into a cab only for them to be closing up for siesta (well it was 2.30 by this time) We did end up having some crackin tapas at the bottom of the steps though after a climb up to the church. So it was'nt a wasted last afternoon
Any news on where these guys or the pizza chef end up (hope its not prison) would be gratefully recieved.... I've just got to have one of their pizzas.

Think the "other two" the maker and the waiter may be starting up in the cafe next door to Picolo, which used to be some sort of a pasta place run by the "othe one" who has allegedly done a runner.Hope that makes sense(most of what I write doesn't!)

Cheers for the info ray. Sounds promising. Hope they can replicate what they had going at piccolo forno. Love the idea of the flamed pizza oven, the shovel and the terrace. See I thought I'd had my best pizza ever at Can olesa, but was told these were on another level

I do hope this happens - the pizza and pasta were just the best! The best I have had in Pollensa without doubt and as good as any I have had elsewhere. Do you mean they hope to take over the cafe on the corner - to the left of the original restaurant - or the quite small place to the right of Piccolo Forno, which closed last year - I know that was under the same ownership, think it used to be a deli? Can't imagine it would be large enough for a restaurant though, unless they reconfigure it in some way.
