arriving next week - Indian meal
We will be arriving next Friday.I hope there'll be somewhere open as I shall be hungry about 8.30ish.
Which reminds about the closure of the Indian place( became Spar)on the Calle Formentor.
We loved it. It reminded me of how Indian's used to be. It had that smell - of
curry - which may sound daft, but it did.
These modern Indians are far too fancified and dumbed down for my taste.

restaurants open
Stephen, You won't have a problem eating aroud 8.30, most people just go out at that time. Indian restaurants not for me, but i believe there's a very good one just beside the Flora apts. Mirch Massala i think it's called.

Mirch Massala is the best Indian in the port. IMO.

Oh Sparky, dont start that discussion up again! Please! (Kashmir for us! )
A far better interior and exterior view than a car park I'm afraid!

Mirch Massala in my opinion is the best Indian in Mallorca! Strong words, I know but the food, service, price for menu of day, wine etc etc were excellent. I think it was approx. 16 Euros per person. Excellent!
I would suggest to anyone who likes a good Indian meal to give this restaurant a try.

We had a carry-out of MM earlier this year.
The grub itself was OK but the size of the portions were awful and it wasnt cheap. In fact it was bleedin dear! The standard of curries (pricing/taste/portions) in PP is nowhere near the standard in Glasgow and tbh having tried MM and kashmir I wouldnt ever go for a curry in PP again.

Interesting. I agree about the pricing in Kashmir, but we thought the food was very tasty. But this was 2 years ago as didnt manage it this year. If it has droped its standards we will have to be looking around for another one. An Indian is not what we go for during the summer months, but on cold nights it does sometime hit the spot, so need to have one on standby!

We love Indian food too, however, I've never found it to be the same here as when I was living in the UK. Nevertheless, we must get our fix and, since the Taj closed (couple of years ago now, was located on Virgen de Carmen and IMO great food), the best we've found so far on the island is the Kashmir. We've been all over following friend's recommendations (the latest being Namaste in Palma on Saturday evening). Personally I liked the way Kashmir used to include a couple of starters in the price of a the main course. This has now stopped and I think that overall prices have increased as a result. We still like the odd take away from them though, especailly in the winter months.

This is interesting as we haven't visited Mirch Massala since winter before last. It was a cold and wet evening and just what we needed. Agree that I personally wouldn't go for a curry meal in the summer months especially when there are so many good places to build into our stay.
Slight worry that perhaps Mirch Massala is perhaps going down hill based on others experiences? That would be a great shame.

Had a takeaway from MM a couple of weeks ago and it was as good as ever, couldn't eat it all so finished it for lunch the next day.
My only visit to Kashmir was back in March or April, we were outnumbered by the staff but the service was terrible and the food was really bland.

Does sound as if the Kashmir is on a downwards slope then. Will give it a chance if it's open in November though just to make sure.
I do remember that the times we have been it has not been busy, probably because it is out of season. That doesn't worry me, but poor service and food definately does.

We have never had anything less than efficient courteous service over the years of eating at the Kashmir. The only disappointment we had this year was the lack of a courtesy starter. The food is always of good standard.Next time we will try MM.Having picked up a menu there this year I was slightly worried by the variety.
