Default Trip Report from a very wet n windy break

Flew out last Monday for a quick break minus the teenagers.
Had lunch/late breakfast in the sunshine in Alcudia. By evening it was raining so went to our tried and tested favourite Guru. Fairly busy and we had to sit near the door as it started raining properly by this time. For a starter we had deep fried mozerella sticks with spicy sauce, then I had the grilled salmon in leek and walnut sauce with rice and veg, OH had calzone which he said was the best yet. With a couple of drinks each it was about 50 euros.
Had a drink at the Australian bar as it had stopped raining managed to sit outside and watch people go by. Went back to the apartment and realised that our hire car had gone! It turned out it had been towed away as the parking restrictions had changed nearby to the Guardia Civil station, after a race through town we got it back before it was moved to Pollensa impound which would have doubled the fine!!
Tuesday saw torential rain for most of the day so we went for a short walk to Nico's which I have posted on in that thread.
Wednesday and it was raining again so rather than venturing to square area ran to Simbad's for a swordfish steak for me and mixed grill for OH. The place was absolutely packed with people at the bar waiting for tables. Food was great but it was far too hot inside with all those steaming bodies from the rain Spent about 40 euros which included a couple of drinks.
Thursday was a lovely sunny morning so we walked down to Stay to book a table as a treat for our last night, however OH read the menu and decided he didn't want to go there We ended up back at a packed Guru that night for the same as the first night so it was lovely but, seemed like a bit of a let down as we were only there for the 4 nights and there are so many places to try. Called in at Nostalgia for a drink on the way back to the apartment but it was quiet as it was too early for the entertainment.
Thought that PP was looking a bit tired round the edges but I suppose it is the end of the season...Or it was perhaps the fact that it rained for most or our stay. Looking forward to next May to try some more places if OH can be persuaded.

Oh Oh! First time I have heard of a car actually being towed away, although there must have been a few of course! That didnt actually improve your holiday did it!? There are always some that are not quite as good as others and this time of year is pretty hit and miss as we have seen. Sorry to hear it wasn't as good as it could have been, but here's to next time being much better! Thanks for the post.

You cannot park outside the Guardia Civil building anymore - I guess it follows the bombs earlier this year.
