REVIEW: L'Algar Bar restaurant, the square PP

Having just come back from Puerto Pollensa for the 6th time we had a lovely holiday and visited loads of really nice restaurants and bars but one that stuck out was L'Algar Bar in the Square. The waitress - a woman probably in her late thirties, early forties, served us (eventually) - she was sullen and impatient when taking our order and while we had our drinks she proceeded to throw the empty bottles into a bin, smashing most of them in the process and muttering to herself at the same time. The noise was such that we couldnt even hold a conversation and we basically wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. (We had only gone inside because it was very hot that day and we needed some air con!) Why do people like this woman work in this sort of establishment if the public annoy her so much. She was rude and sour faced and obviously hated being there that particular day. OK so she maybe had personal problems, or maybe someone didnt turn up that day and she was short staffed but there was absolutely no need to behave as she did. Suffice to say we wont visit there again. I think she will know who she is..........she served us onthe 3rd of September.

Hi Lel,

We are regular visitors to the L'Algar and have in the past always found the staff to be really pleasant. We did notice this year that they seemed to be very short staffed (not that this is an excuse for rudeness). On market day when the Square is always busy there was just one guy serving and the place was packed. We waited so long for our cake that I had to go in and get it myself!

Never encountered any rudeness, hope it was just a one off.
