Reading through the posts about Christmas in Puerto Pollensa made me wonder what it's like there at that time of the year, is it really quiet? are all the shops and cafes boarded up?. Has anyone been over Chrismas and enjoyed it, i would really like to know as it would be a nice change to get away from it all for a change.
I would be grateful for any info. Thanks

Hi Purpleboots,
Hubby and i were told, before we moved here last December, that all the bars/restaurants would be closed except at weekends and that the street lights are turned off . RUBBISH!!, yes the touristy shops were closed but there were plenty of bars/ restaurants open and the street lights were also working .
Of course what a lot of people don't realise is that this a working port and not just a holiday resort, many people live here and like to go out for drinks and meals. Yes it was much quieter but we loved.

Default Christmas in Puerto Pollensa

Thank you both for your quick replies, any more info would be much appreciated, getting quite excited now just thinking how nice it would be just chilling out for a week. I think Christmas has become a nightmare over the past few years and it would be change to get away from it for once.

Purpleboots,

Read my review on page 13 " Ding, Dong , Merrily at Stay " to give you some idea of Christmas here. Basically you are forgoing the old " Ho, Ho, Ho " factor for the sunshine and quiet because Christmas is very understated here and more excitement at Three Kings on the 6th Jan.

if you really want to get away from it all, highly recommended but think I'll abandon the " Bah Humbag" syndrome this year and party til I drop in the UK !!!

BonysLad

Let me be the first to wish you Happy Christmas

We may well still be over on the 15th Jan for a few days to see all the lads and their big pole though!! The weather this year was amazing and there were quite a few of us out at that time too.
