Default Trip Report 15-22nd Aug

Stayed in the Eneas apartments in Bellresguard this year which were superb, great standard and good location.

Sat-after a quick tripto Eroski and 200 euros later we spent the day by the pool had lunch of Pa amb Olis etc and cooked some hake and prawns in the evening ,a bottle of Macia Batle and a Jaume Mesquida rose and collapsed in bed after being up at 3 am .

Sun -took the kids to the beach then lunch at Brisa Marina, bread and olives,1 calamares ,1 grilled squid ,stuffed mussels,croquetes,4 beers 4 juice, came to about 50 euros I think.
got a pass from the parents so out on our own Sun night and went to Los Zarzarles , managed to get a table outside and had prawns with sobrasada and another dish I can`t remember to start followed by cod with sobrasada and lomo con col, all superb and good service, two beers and a bottle of Arzuaga ribera del duero came to around 90 euros .

Mon - went to meet some friends staying in Cala sant vicenc and had lunch at their place ,spent the afternoon by the pool and cooked paella in the evening with another Macia tinto and a Macia blanc de blanc.

Tue - took a trip to the old town and bought some cakes from Giardino ?patisserie which you can take round the corner and eat at the restaurant in the square with a coffee, kids had a ice cream then took them to the small park to play.
Evening back to the town and had tapas at club pollensa ,calamares, frit, pimenton de padron , mixed croquetes etc and watched the kids play, sorry cant remember the cost.

Wed- Hired a bike while the rest went to see our friends again and did a epic bike ride in what turned out to be the hottest day so far ,over the coast road to soller ,over the coll as you can`t cycle through the tunnel and then over Orient and Alaro back through Campanet and grovelled home 6 hours later feeling strange .
Evening, took the kids to O`Lume nobody in when we arrived but not put off due to the reviews on this site ,very friendly welcome and nothing to much trouble, complimentary salad ,bread,1 menu del dia for my wife(pasta with prawns, fish in saffron, fried milk),1 razor clams,1 frit marinero 2 chicken for the kids,1 hake with razor clam ,2 beers 2 juice,1 water and a bottle of Aalto followed by complimentary coffee and baileys ,bill came to 116 euros, this was the best place we ate this week, my kind of place ,authentic food ,unpretentious and very friendly,I can`t recommend this place enough.
Only complaint would be the fried milk was not as light as normal, a bit claggy.

Thur- by the pool by day then met with friends in the evening in the old town and ate at c`an olesa, there were 6 adults and 5 kids and as my wife was driving I had a few beers so I can`t remember what everyone ate ,the bill came to 324 euros ,the other couples gave me 100 euros each in cash and I was paying the rest of 124 euros on my card ,after paying I was just putting my receipt away when I noticed I`d been charged the whole 324 on my card! after apologies and a complimentary lemoncello we headed home ,hoping it was a genuine mistake.

Fri-another day by the pool then in the evening at los Pescadores on the pine walk ,a few starters of frit, calamares etc and then all had paella and a bottle of rose followed by coffee while we watched my 3 year old lad dance naked in the sea much to my fellow diners amusement ,a perfect way to end a wonderful week
The week went so quick and now back at work ,already planning the next trip, this place is just so special...................................

Is it right to spend your whole year thinking about the next trip to PP?

We noticed this year that eating out can be expensive but there are many bargains to be had like the menu del dias at El posito and Can josep for around 8 euros.

Bon Profit!

Really enjoyed reading your trip report Ironman....missed going this year so love reading all the reports....sounded as if you had a perfect time. Isn't Bellresguard a wonderful area? Love the story about your little 3 year old...wish I had seen it! Kids can be so entertaining. I love the fact kids can have so much fun while the parents just chill out at these fine places on the pinewalk. Think we all dream about our next trip to PP so don't worry!

Great report Ironman. I'm now home a month from my holiday so it was lovely to be taken back there just for a few minutes. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Ironmanuk!

Enjoyed the read, boy, do you like your fish and seafood!

And the story of your son too.

Heard one recently of a three year old in our family, who had given his gran some help over something and when she thanked him , out came the reply, "it's alright gran, all in a day's work!"

Great report, Ironman. Really enjoyed reading it. It makes me so envious when my holiday there was weeks ago. I think most people on here, same as yourself, think about PP all year round.
