Default Katy's bar

Hi Folks,
This is my first post so sorry if this has been asked before. I was in PP in June staying in Villa Lorenzo beside Katy's Bar/ Little Italy on the Pine Walk. Does anyone have an update on what's happening with the bar. I know Katy passed way and it has been closed for a couple of years now. I am back for 3weeks in June 2110 and wonder if it will be open?
Ian

Hi Ian
I'll be out in PP in September for a couple of weeks and also October. I'll make some enquiries whilst there and let you know if I find out anything new about Katy's. It's really a shame to see it remaining closed for so long.

Pity! Whatever the dispute is, it must be futile, think of all the money they're missing out on!

There's an inheritance dispute going on with many properties involved (including the bar). How long it will take to resolve is anyone's guess...

Interesting to note on me early morning Constitutional along the Pine Walk , chairs and tables stacked on Katy's terrace ???. New opening I asked myself so tonight took another stroll to see what was going on.

It seems that Little Italy have now extended their "footprint" right along the Pine Walk and it was in fact their furniture , tonight laid up for diners .

Can't really understand the encrouchment rights, thought outside footprint was dictated by internal restaurant space , hence Bonys forced back from the garden fences .

Anyone know the bye laws ??

Default Katy's Bar

It's true that this has been happening since last year. The hard-working waiters at Little Italy were all complaining about sore feet and diminishing soles on their shoes due to the extra distances they had to walk to serve the tables.
They supposedly had permission last year to spread the tables along - and at the end of the day it's better to see such a lovely location being used in this way. Little Italy have also been in contact with the new owner of Katys' Bar so they may well have permission to do this again this year..... it might be kosher
