Hi everyone - once again a marvellous holiday in PP, our fourth visit and a little disappointed that we chose just to go for a week this year (having 2 weeks in Portugal in Sept this year) but hopefully we willl get back again next year to sample more of the delights that this town holds!!
Our first night we spent in Trios, nice that they recognised us from the year before and we had the set menu, mussels, spaghetti followed by Beef escalope and Beef & Pork Kebab couple of sweets pork fillet for my son and icecream wine and soft drinks all for 45 euro.
Monday night we went to Brisa Marina - once again the waiter recognised us from the year before, nice when you think how many people must visit this place, set menu once again, hubby just had to have the John Dory - he'd gone on about it all day and he wasn't disappointed, I had salmon usual starters and sweets, wine and soft drinks, even cheaper with a bill of 40 euro.
Our
apartments were 10 minutes away from Tango's and as we hadn't visited here last year we felt we had to. We were glad we did, the setting is lovely, we had a table right at the front of the restaurant and the sun was just setting, amazing, the bread, olives and alioli were the best I think of the holiday, I had sea bass, hubby had langoustines both from the set menu and they did us a childs portion of the grilled salmon, the veggies were the best we had all week, green beans, red cabbage, potato, carrots, fried potato really nice and well presented too bill was 50 euro (and of course our son was kept entertained by the whistling man!!)
Having walked past a number of times last year we decided to give Don Corleone a try, menu of the day was 20 euro and the food was good (even though one of our waiters was a little stern faced) aubergine parmesana and a tomato and mozzerella salad, suckling pig and pork in pepper sauce, chips and salad with both and pizza for my son, sweets for all and half bottle of wine and soft drink 45 euros.
Was it really Thursday already!! We gave Simbads a try, never been before and it always seemed to have plently of people in and there was such a vast choice of food, didn't bother with a starter, I had grilled mixed meat - much to my embarassment, the plate was huge and when they brought it out automatically went to give it to my other half!! He had fish kebab although he did help me with some of mine as there was so much!! Thomas had half roast chicken which he thoroughly enjoyed, House wine and a coke and a nice touch of cpmplimentary liquers and chocolates, bill was 56 euro - another enjoyable night and only 1 more left - Oh no where do we go?????
As I said in an earlier post the 3 previous visits we have made to PP have seen us walk past Bar Coral every day sometimes 3 and 4 times and we have always looked but never gone in - our last night was spent there and we were'nt disappointed. Coral Mussels and shoulder of lamb for me and Tapas followed by Hake and Tumbet for the hubby, they did us a childs portion of Pork fillet with Tumbet which went down very well, house white, fanta and a childs icecream and a couple of Irish coffees followed by complimentary liquers, 77 euro and worth every penny!!
We were sad that our week had come to an end as there were so many other places we would have liked to have tried,
Galeon and Llenaire were just 2 minutes walk from our apartments and both looked tempting. C'an Andre in the square looked really nice there was also one on the front just past the big bridge which I cannot remember the name of, a large cream and blue front to it always seemed fairly busy and we found Ikebana and Cellar Le Parra too. We did notice that this time of year seemed a lot quieter than when we usually visit in early September, unless this is of course to do with the dreaded 'credit crunch'.
Must mention our Bar too - Bar D'Cafe - just down from
El Posito - went every night apart from Sunday when its closed, large beer and large bacardi and can of coke 5.50 euro - paid 9.50 just down the road for the same drink !!
Anyway hope I haven't bored you too much but typing this has made me realise how much I am missing PP already - I envy all of you who still have your visit to look forward to! Enjoy
