Default bony,s expanding

I think he will be rivalling the tex mex chain soon, Jose is hard at work converting the paper shop next to him on one side and the leather/ handbag shop on the other side into places to sit and have a drink.I suppose it could be worse!!It,s a shame thats 2 more shops gone in the square.

Will there now be 2 prices, one for outside and one for in the "new" areas? Jose was getting so expensive the last time we were there and now we know why !

How lovely ..can't wait

The square use to be a fantastic place to go in the evening for a drink with friends and family. It used to have a great buzz about it with none of the tacky commercialism that is Bonys

Brace yourself then, because I get the feeling that over the next few years there is going to be alot more changes in PP (like the Bonys expansion) and the "old" PP will be lost. I deeply hope I'm wrong but commercialism will cause changes!

Unfortunately Tonsyl I think you're right. PP is nothing like the place I fell in love with 20 years ago, all it's charm and character is rapidly being lost. It's now becoming just another resort in Mallorca whereas before it stood out from rest. When we first bought our apartment 5 years ago I felt proud for friends to visit and show off our beloved PP. The ones who had never been to Mallorca before because they had heard about Magaluf, Alcudia etc, and thought every resort on the island was like that. In my opinion sadly it is becoming that way now..such a shame

Default bonys

A bit harsh, debz.

Yes it's changed. But so has everywhere else. I still far rather take friends to PP than anywhere else!

Agreed Graham,

I understand and share your concerns debz1, there are quite a few changes and the threat of the credit crunch does also pose some threats (pile 'em cheap cf discerning quality merchants...), but!...

It still stands head and shoulders above the more commercialised resorts and at the end of the day it's core natural beauty cannot be spoiled!

Half full time again!

Bonys expanding for those that like the place great and for those that dont give it a wide berth. I will sit and have a drink there a few times this summer and enjoy it.

Having only been to PP the last 3 years I suppose I cannot make any comparisons, however we picked up in Alcudia last year and I would say the two resorts are worlds apart. I know lots of people like it but Alcudia is not somewhere I would holiday, too many high rise and too many 'English breakfasts served here'. We enjoy ourselves in the local bars away from the square where people are much more friendlier and prices a lot easier on your pocket!!

Quite Right Rangers1. I'll be there in June and will also sit there and enjoy it, (it's only once a year after all). Though with the exchange rate and Bony's prices we might have one less round of drinks but still sit there and soak up the atmosphere.

Never quite understand the need to go to Bonys? But each to their own. I will be over the other side of the square, enjoying myself just as much at a far cheaper price in Bar Cultural.

When my boys were smaller, they loved to spend their holiday money in the wee paper/ toy shop. Sorry to see it go.
