Default Restaurants offering evening set-menus in 2009

On request I've started a new thread for 2009. Please only post here is you have actually eaten (or seen the menu) for an evening Menu del Dia (MDD) during 2009 in Puerto Pollensa, Pollensa Town and Cala San Vicente.

If you notice a change in the summer do post updates, as some places only offer them out of season or up the prices then.

Do start posting...

Oh dear, I think I have a reputation for being a MDD girl...

I can only comment on what I saw last week so I'm sure there'll be more opening up soon:

Centric - their MDD (all day) is currently only 10 EUR (but it was 15 EUR later in the year in 2008)
O'Lume - about 22 EUR
Can Andreu - lunch is about 9.50. I'm not sure about evenings (it used to be about 18) as it only appears to be doing weekend evenings at the moment.
Tango - 16 EUR + IVA
Stay - 32 EUR incl IVA

I think Pascalinos still do one - probably Chinese food.

Any more?

Default Mdd

Great idea for a post.

I think the MDD is going to make all the difference this year. Do they do it at Il Giardino in Pollensa?

Graham,

They did last year ( well sort of , fixed price for two/three courses ), but like Theatre dinners in town you had to be in and out early .

Default evening menus

Tribeca has changed its evening menu this year to offer 3 tasting menus (menu degustacion). 1 veggie, 1 fish and 1 meat. 4 courses for 19.95, 20.95 and 21.95 respectively. The menus will change twice a week. Serving things like fresh homemade ravioli as a starter and date stuffed prok loin for example.

TOTS - MDD 15 euros. Price included small appetiser, roll,I had spaghetti bolognaise, shoulder of lamb with new potatoes and veg. then profiteroles plus a small bottle of water the choice was extensive and we all enjoyed our meals. We were in Puerto Pollensa the week before half term and lots of places had MDD signs, then the week of half term quite a few had disappeared - wonder if they will return once school holidays finish.

All very well mentioning the above places, but have you eaten in any of these recently. Price does not necessarily mean quality and value for money.

I think that most members who have posted above HAVE eaten at these recently & are recommending them. In particular I would say that the quality of food at both O Lume & Stay is very good and extremely good value for money.

Based on some recent posts, other places offering MDD that have been recommended this year include:

Tangos 16.80
Can Josep 19.75 (vat incl)
Mirch Massala 15.95

Please do carry on posting here. We just need name of the restaurant, price & a brief comment. Thanks.

Default La Piazza ( I think I've spelt it right )

The best value set menu I have had this year in the port taking price versus quality into account was at La Piazza. It was something like €11 each for 3 courses plus drink and the quality for this price was unbelievable.Normally I would avoid places like this as we normally prefer more traditional fare however it was that good we actually paid a second visit.Any veggies out there amongst you would also probably enjoy this place.
