Hi jmac
is this the bar that is real basic inside and has a few tables on the road outside, we went in there everynight this year once we had found it - always made welcome - my 7 year old called it the 'sausage bar' as he always got mini chorizos on bread, really lovely staff and excellent prices - will be back in there in July next year when we are there for a week.

Hi everyone - also new to this forum, been visiting Pollensa at least twice a year since 1994...
El Cafe is quite basic, very traditional and much more to my taste than the more touristy ones in the centre - we went there a couple of times in October and as you say it is really welcoming and friendly - think they have different free tapas every night, we had a lovely fresh broad bean snack. Plus very handy for a pre-dinner drink at El Posito which has rapidly become our favourite in the last year or so - thanks to all Forum members for their excellent recommendations, they have been invaluable!

HI , i think it is the same one, if you leave through the main entrance El Posito should be to your left . Can somebody name a few spanish restaurants
on the sea front , i was in one at the end of this years holiday and it was excellent but the name escapes me.

Thats right El Posito is on your left when you come out of the bar. We will be back there when we go out at the end of May for a week. Be interesting to see how the prices are both there and elsewhere in PP with the euro as it is!!

Very interesting these posts. I have to rate El Posito as a great favourite and have never tried El Cafe, though I know where it is.
Could do with a decent late night bar that's welcoming as we've never found anything that "hits the spot" like the Bla Bla Music Bar did....and that closed over three years ago.

We used this bar almost every evening last year - 5.50 euro for a large beer and bacardi and coke (generous measure) with proper coke in a can!! We were made to feel very welcome each night! I think there is a takeawy opposite it too that a few people have referred to on this forum but I cannot remember the name - we might try it in May. Hope the restuarants still carry on with the menus of the day?

El Cafe
Always enjoy having a coffee sitting outside, as you say very reasonable(and a nice wee free biscuit) you see more of the local life, and it's just round the corner from the square, where i think you pay far to high a premium to "people watch".

El Posito could no doubt help, but don't know when he re-opens, could be 1/02.
