We just arrived yesterday and I went round most of the restaurants trying to get somewhere just for a meal last night. O lume were full, some of them wern,t even opening and I didn,t want to pay 150 euros each for 4 of us at some of the restaurants.Just by chance, I went into a really nice place and the owner said he had made a mistake this year as only 19 had booked at 95 euros. When I said I just wanted a meal, he told us to come in, dont tell anybody and you can have it for 24 euros each.Ya Beauty!! Champagne to start, lovely starter, and the same meal as the rest of the people in the place, afterwords a free drink at the bar. Needless to say, I left a good tip and will return again as the staff and the food were so good.I think some of the restaurants were chancing
their arm at the prices they were charging and I even walked past one of them with menu pinned up to the window advertising the new year dinner at 95 euros and it was shut. It will be interesting this summer to see what the prices are like with the euro now worth 98p. Bah Humbug. GPM

".....I didn,t want to pay 150 euros each for 4 of us at some of the restaurants."

Tell me that was a typo error.... are u seriously saying that there were restaurants in the Port asking 150 euros a head for just a dinner? .... are they having a laugh.?
Course ur gonna pay extra and very rightly so but NOT 150 each!......I love eating in Puerto Pollenca but dont like being ripped off... and that is certainly what a Hogmanay Dinner in the Port sounds like ! (eg: local Ayrshire restaurant, Michelin Star, 4 course menu 42)
Well done u, to speak up and get a good meal, at a realistic price ! and I hope u had a lovely New Year !

Miriam
