Last night [28th October] we all decided to go to Tolos. A storm was brewing so we took the car – only to find Tolos in darkness. I assume it has closed for the season.
We headed back to the centre of Town and decided to go to
Nicos. We only got in the door and the storm arrived overhead with an almighty clap of thunder that rattled the windows so much we thought they might smash.
The waiters were very good with my son who is four and started making jokes about Halloween.
Once we had got over the shock of the thunder we settled in and watched the rain bouncing while we decided what to eat. We all shared Cheese Nachos and a portion of onion rings with various dips to start. Everything was delicious and we all really enjoyed it. For mains Dad had Nicos Special Quesadilla and Mum had Crazy Chicken Quesadilla both were excellent and came with a choice of chips or salad. There was an enormous amount of food and neither finished the meal but that was only to do with quantity. Husband had Dynamite Chilli and rice – it was very hot which is exactly what he expected and he didn’t leave a drop! I had one of Nico’s new dishes ‘Cuscus Senegal’ – it was excellent. It was a fruity tomato based stew with celery, carrots, tomatoes and chickpeas and came with couscous. I will definitely order this again. Son had his Nico’s usual – Hot Dog! Does what it says on the tin – he loved it! The bill was €85 and included a few rounds of wine, beer and water.
By the time we came out the worst of the storm had passed. We walked through the Square back to the
apartment and it looked like Bony had given up due to bad weather. The weather today is not as bad as forecast in that it isn’t raining and the sun is [mostly] out but the winds are very strong. All the electricity in the Port went out late morning and a tree was uprooted in C/Joan!
