Default Can Olesa

We decided where to eat last night on the basis of the weather forecast for the next few days - which is supposed to be grim! On that basis we decided to go up to Pollensa and eat at Can Olesa as it only has outside tables so we wouldn't be able to eat there for the rest of the holiday if the forecast proves to be correct. I have to say though I am sitting on the balcony this morning and there isn't a cloud in the sky!

My son didn't want to go to Can Olesa as he want to catch some fish from the sea and eat them for his dinner! Needless to say he didn't catch any fish but my Dad bought him a tin of sardines and offered to babysit so that Husband & I could go to Can Olesa - yipee!

We got there about 8pm and we were surprised as all the restaurants in the Square were very busy. We had to wait a few minutes for a table and then settled down to order eating the bread and olives. We shared an onion focaccia bread to start which was full of onions and really nice. Husband had his favourite pizza - the Can Olesa which he said as as good as ever. I chose a funghi pizza which was excellent - I really love the crusts on the pizzas here they are such a lovely flavour. We shared the grape, cheese and walnut salad which was really good. As usual I finished with the profiteroles which my husband ended up eating half of as the chocolate sauce proved impossible for him to resist. I nearly had the chocolate with marscapone as I remembered a review by Jane mentioning this but I couldn't get past the profiteroles! Next time!

We had a bottle of Merlot and still water. The bill was €59 - very good value.

Sharon,

You really must try the chocolate marscapone next time - you will not be disappointed and the profiteroles will be a thing of the past!

Keep the posts coming!

Another great review. I ate in Can Olesa twice during our July holiday, based on your previous recommendation, as my children are pizza lovers. In fact all 9 of us had pizzas which were delicious, as you had described, and my sister and her family returned again after we had gone home. I think the location of this restaurant is perfect too and it amazes me to hear that the square is still so busy in late October.

Hope the forecast is wrong. Look forward to hearing more.

Linda
