Default Eateries 25th & 26th October 2008

Hi all

We arrived on Friday, early evening, and ate in as we were tired travelling.

Saturday lunch time mum, son & I ventured to Neptuno for pa'amb oli queso, toasted sandwiches and chips. It was excellent as usual and, including drinks, only €22.

On Saturday evening we all headed to Makassar in the Square. Dad had nachos followed by the salmon, Husband had broad beans and bacon followed by the salmon and Mum had salad followed by steak. Everyone was very happy with the standard of the food - only one small complaint the salmon was very slightly overcooked. This was from the set menu for €15.90 and included pudding. I had tumbet - melt in the mouth and son had carbonara which he loved.

This evening I went to Tribeca with husband. We had never been to this restaurant before - I don't know why! It was great - plenty of choice for veggies. I had pesto, goats cheese and med. vegetable filo stack and husband had the steak. We also ordered chilli wedges and wok fried greens. It was excellent. To follow we had a selection of cheesecakes to share - peanut butter (the best), orange & dark chocolate, hazelnut & white chocolate (both very good) and vanilla (ok - compared to the rest!). We had a lovely bottle of rioja and water all for €72. We will definately be back Though for anyone heading out in the next week or so it is closing on Friday for the season

Will post more as the week progresses.

Regards

Sharon

Hi Sharon

Great to hear from you. Seems like you're having a lovely time. Weather here is awful. Haven't been to Tribeca for years but your meal sounds great. Look forward to more reviews.

Linda

Great reviews, Sharon. We went to Tribeca for the 1st time this year and, as you said, it was great! Brill atmosphere what with all the candles.
