Default Restaurants for New Years Eve?

Just wondered if anyone had experience of New Years Eve in PP? Been in Dec before so I know whats open is limited but Im sure Ive read about celebrations in the square at midnight. Does anyone have any experience of restaurants on this night? Have been told The Galeon along the front has a gala dinner but we were hoping to be near the square if things are going on!

Hi gemmakate,

There is a section on New Year's Eve in the Frequently Asked Questions section here:

http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/...-pollensa.html

I'm sure that you will also get some more suggestions from members who have been lucky enough to be in the Port at New Year!

Thanks Jane, will have a look at the link. Really looking forward to our winter trip. Have got a baby due in 5 weeks so not been able to visit my favorite place this summer, hence dragging everyone along for New Years instead!

We have spent a couple of years at Trio and it is excellent. I am sure they are already taking bookings and there is always an excellent mix of British and Spanish there - a good atmosphere - not too OTT but special and friendly. A couple of years ago we paid about 100€ a head which included 4 or 5 course meal, wine, cava, coffee, liquors, fun goodie bag for midnight and live music for dancing. Hot chocolate and ensaimada served at about 0400hrs. A cheaper option without the music etc. is at Tango or Maxims but if you are going to go for it best to do the whole thing. MOLTS D`ANYS as they say - New year is celebrated by most households here in Spain.

Not a lot in the Square but if you really want to party then TRIO is for you.

Great night , starts at about 8.30 finishes c 6 a.m. . whole night inclusive of all drinks including dinner and breakfast ( hot chocolate and pastries ) , bar open all night, entertainment etc etc.

You have to book well beforehand but tremendous party atmosphere. Great mixture of Brits + locals all out for a good night. Haven't been for a couple of years but last time about 90 Euros per head. Fantastic value and you even get Jose from Bonys as a guest waiter !!!!

You probably need to go more than a group of two but if you do you will still get swept away in the atmosphere.

Really great fun

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like Trio is the place to go! There will be 6 of us so it sounds ideal. I will get a friend whos in PP to enquire about booking. Thanks for all your help, really appreciate it!
