Default Simbads

What do you make of this place?

It always seems mobbed and seems to have an extensive menu based upon the boards outside but we have never been in. Does the parrot get on your nerves whilst having your food or is it a wee siedshow all of its own?

Thumbs down

When we first visited PP over 10 years ago and on a budget we ventured into Simbads . Sorry to say that it was not up to much and we never went back . From memory it was poor meat and waterlogged vegs not what I look forward to for my evening meal.

Have never dined in Simbads, had a few drinks though. The owner is always very pleasant and she has been there for years so she must be doing something right. Of course the Minah bird is legendary.

We ate in Simbads . My friend ordered the seafood and it arrived extremely cold (although I watched it being heated in the microwave ) on a childs plate and covered in breadcrumbs like fish fingers , we expected this to proper peices of seafood but we were wrong . But is a lovely looking place , a nice atmosphere but a shame about the standard of food . Seems to be very popualr though

Ate there many years ago and had a terrible meal.We ordered paella and when it arrived it looked and tasted like it had been in an oven for a week, so never returned (we frequented next door instead).Maria is always very pleasant and always says hello...by the way it is a new mynah bird (the other died the winter before last).not as entertaining as the otherone...all it does is give an irritating type of whistle

I always make a point of eating at Simbads a couple of times while I'm in PP, but that's mainly because I love Maria & the atmosphere there. She always makes you feel so welcome. The food can be a bit hit & miss. The meat & fish are good, and good size portions, but they tend to overcook the vegetables.
