That's the Luna Miel - not recommended

O'Lume is a Northern Spanish restaurant in one of the back streets. Use the "search thread" facility for O Lume and you will find directions

No - it is a bistro serving mediterranean food located a street or so back from the front.

to find O Lume head out from the island by marina towards alcudia, you will pass Imperial pub on the right hand side, turn right carry on up this street to the Spar shop on the left, then turn left and O Lume is on the left. Go there tonight! Even if it looks quiet when you get there go on in, it is great. I wish I could go tonight but I'm back home

Default O Lume

Walked past 3 times in the two and half weeks we were in PP, each time between about 8.00 to 9.30pm. The last time being last Wednesday 31 July at about 9.00pm. On all 3 occasions, we saw no more than 2 tables in use, with the total number of diners 2 to 6.

It almost became a private joke, "Try and spot the customers in O Lume!" I'm sure it must be a great place to eat because of the number of positive reviews, but It just doesn't appeal when it always seems so quiet. By contrast most of the other restaurants in that area, C'an Ferrar, Los Faroles, Brisa Marina and Simbads etc. were absolutely heaving. Admittedly these are all in more prominent postions, but then again El Posito is tucked away in a back street, and is always busy.

Still, we'll try again next year, I'll probably be complaining then that I wasn't able to get a table!

Pinewalker do try it, you won't be sorry. I don't like eating in restaurants that are packed to the gunnels much prefer a more quiet atmosphere when the staff and owners have time for a little chat.

We are really looking forward to trying out O'Lume this year - can someone confrm where it is for me please? -

I have mentioned in previous posts but we go out on 30th August for two weeks - staying at Playa Mar once again - really good during the day for our son - we have got a list of restaurants to visit mainly due to the forum recommendations so no douibt will post our thoughts when we return.

ps - has the weather been good of late?

No worries. Fully understand.

BTW, you asked about weather. My sister in law's husband is Mallorcan and was speaking to his father (who lives in Soller) earlier this week. Father says weather is "very hot" - which presumably means it's "very, very hot". We'll be there round about the same as you - I'll be that fat middle-aged bloke shovelling Northern Spanish (hopefully Galician) fish dishes down my gullet in O Lume. . The north does the best seafood, IMO.

We ate there with our Mallorcan friends last week and they rated it highly. As good as ever for me. When time is back on my side, I will do this years critique which has a 'shock' or two.

If only O'Lume would invest in a decent sound system and some good CD's?

Default O Lume

An investment in air conditioning would be good too - we had a lovely meal there beginning of July but my husband couldn't stand the heat despite the numerous fans. I wanted to eat there again but hubby didn't as he was just too uncomfortable. Planning to go again in October though when the temperature inside will be more bearable I think
