Restaurant Reservations

We will be in Pollenca in 2 weeks and were planning eating at El Posito and Los Zarzales among others , do I need to book for these restaurants? and what about the restaurants in the square in the old town? this is the first time we have been in peak season so not sure what to expect...

Hi ironman,

I think it's always a good idea to book if you want to avoid being disappointed. It doesn't hurt to call the day before or pop in and reserve a table.

As for restaurants in the square in the old town, I would say you would definitely need to book for somewhere like Il Giardino and Ca N'Olesa. We always arrive in the square at about 7pm and book a table for 8.30pm before we go and have a drink.

We have booked for Ca'n Costa, Cantonet, La Font dell Gall and Trencadora.

Restaurant Reservations

As Jane says, I think it is definitely wise to book. We ate in El Posito twice during our recent holiday. On the first occasion we had made a reservation and everything went perfectly however when we arrived the following week without a reservation we had quite a long wait as the restaurant was very busy. Entirely our own fault.

We also ate in Ca N'Olesa twice and did exactly as Jane recommends - booked a table, went for a pre dinner drink and stroll and returned to find our table ready. When we left we booked a table for the following week and again arrived to find it ready for us. Given the number of people standing around waiting for tables I think it's a much better idea to book at this time of year rather than be disappointed.
