Thanks for making the comparison that I refrained from doing Snowy. One is a hard-nosed succesful businessman who provides a service to his customers whilst the other is......
I find it hypocritical that the tex mex guy is derided on this website whilst the Bony guy is treated like some favourite uncle.
Neptuno? Bar Juanito?

Well said Jane. Personally I find Bonys a really nice venue for lunch in the early or late season, when Jose has a little bit more time (to encourage me with my Spanish!) and the place isn't bursting with boozing Brits!
But I can see the attraction in the season for folk who are more sociable than me.
The great thing about PP (and long may it continue) is that there is pretty well something for everyone. Some people don't like to eat "foreign food"......I don't see the point of travelling all that way for an English fry up.
Let's celebrate diversity!
Actually, I thought that the original comments in this thread, about comparative bar prices was really interesting as I'd never really thought about it. "We're on holiday - hang the cost!" There were some very useful pointers in there. I wouldn't have expected the Daina (where we stay once or twice a year) to be so competitive. You live and learn!

I might have said before but I like to have a pre-dinner drink at the Miramar Hotel.
It's a nice setting right on the seafront watching all those heading out to dinner. The service is friendly and you are not rushed to leave. Oh and as shown at the start of this thread I discovered upon return this year that the prices were very reasonable.

Hi Lala,
have just looked back to your first post & have seen how competitive the Miramar is. So as requested above let's now try & keep this post on bar prices & if anyone can add to the feedback on prices for coke, beer, G&T etc. please do add it here. Thanks.

Bonys
Could never quite find the attraction to Bonys Bar, bar manager running around with trousers rolled up with pegs attached. Drinks served in thick glassware to give the impression measures are bigger. everone cramed in like sardines. Do they give out free drinks, or am i missing something???

leave Bony's alone I love it!
We have been going to PP now for 13 years, the first few years we stayed down Gotmar, and only went to the Rosa Blanca when Roy used to work there owned by Christine and Tony, unfortunately Tony died and Christine sold and Roy left, then we started staying up near Pinewalk and found Bony's one night when we all wanted a drink after our meal, always end up there now Hose' is like a friend can not wait to go back this September and see him again he is a "exclusive" person and so harmless and crazy, we love him

Got to agree with Smiddy on this one. From lurking on this forum for a couple of years it seems to me that most posters are very passionate about PP retainiing its Mallorcan charm. Bonys is as far removed from Mallorcan charm as it gets. Crowded, tacky and expensive are some of the kinder adjectives that can be applied to Bonys. I passed by it recently and it had a sign outside stating "closed Tuesday, boys legover". Maybe my humour isn't what it used to be but thats the type of thing that you would expect to see in Magaluf or Santa Ponsa. Maybe its a sign of the times but I certainly wouldn't frequent with the family a restaurant in the UK where the proprietor rolls up his trousers with clothes pegs at the bottom of them and throws sweets to the kids. "Not forever" says Bony? The sooner the better says I.

After several attempts at getting this topic back on track, I am now going to close this thread. We have had plenty of useful posts on bar prices for this year & several other random ones on various bars. For anyone wondering about how much a drink may cost you this year, have a good look through these posts & I'm sure you'll get a good idea.
Happy drinking everyone!
