Default In the port June 2008

Hi everybody, I`ve been reading reports and threds on the site for quite a while so thought it was about time I added my own. just got back after 10 days in the port. Excellent as usual although the weather was disappointing at times.
The best thing about the port for us is eating out and the vast choice of eateries. we stayed at the Bahia Hostel on the Pinewalk. Fantastic location and great staff. Nice for snacks at lunchtime too.
This visit we ate at La Piazza, L`Almirant (opposite Mollies),El Posito,Kashmir,Makasser,Nico`s,Los Faroles and ........Tex-mex. All were pretty good but El Posito was exceptional. We went twice, couldn`t resist going back for the tumbet. Lamb was to die for too! As others have said Makasser`s serves good food but on the night we were there the service was chaotic, dishes and wine going to several tables before they got it right.Coffees and drinks at Tolo`s,Illa D`Or and of course Bony`s made for a great hol as usual, can`t wait to get back

Hi Dave!

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for your comments about restaurants. It was especially interesting to read about Makassar. Still in two minds whether to go back there or not!
